Fresh revelations emanating from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have it that ex-president Goodluck Jonathan spent about N2.2billion on prayers to fight Boko Haram.

The Nation gathered from an executive director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Baba-Kusa, that the money was spent on prayers in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia to win the war against insurgency in the country.

This latest development is not part of the $2.1billion arms fund for which former National Security Adviser (NSA) Colonel Sambo Dasuki is being tried.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.legit.ng/amp/760177-revealed-ex-president-jonathan-spent-n2-2bn-prayers-fight-boko-haram.html

Imagine spending this money in setting up a hospital equipment and safety kits factory, what impact it would have done today.

I tell you...
how about the over 12B naira that was budgeted for the aso rock clinic last year and still nothinh to show for it

it is sickening,

I saw a video of a danfo conductor giving passengers ogogoro to wash their hands before entering the bus... It looked funny, but the truth is that the conductor acted more responsible than some so called educated elites in the country who just returned from abroad and can't sit their asses down at home to reduce the spread of the virus...

I am now in enforced LOCK DOWN add to that LOCKED out of Nigeria effectively. So time to reflect

Our so called political leaders have always been self seeking, they have never cared, so what's new.

Corona reminds of the saying that the UK, USA, etc is a leveller, no impunity and no big man.

Corona has levelled our politicians they are not immune. Trying to replicate the temperature climes of the West artificially with A/C and thier uninterrupted 24hr electricity will speed up thier deserved demise. Covid 9 thrives in lower temperatures, let them keep feeling cool.

The poor who are forced to endure the hot harsh virus burning tropical weather, will inadvertently reduce thier propensity to the virus. Particularly if they can observe good hygiene and social distancing.

Finally, undoubtedly without any reservation, there is God that's able to do the impossible and keep you safe more so if you know him.

Write up sent to me

Our chickens and guinea fowls are coming home to roost.

Atiku's son is positive. He is in Gwagwalada hospital . He can't fly to Dubai.

The president is in town. There are no international conferences.

If he needs attention, he will have to use the state clinic.

That expression 'we die here' is now so real.

Once we become full of the virus, no one will allow any of us into their country.

If we have no test kits, then we stay here and dig graves and bury our dead.

If we have no ventilators, then we will use table fans. And die like that.

We die here. Abi?

If the Bishops and Imams refuse to listen, they will listen when the churches and mosques are filled with sorrow tears and coffins.

If NASS members wont submit themselves to tests at the airports , the chambers will become filled with Corona virus and become distinguished viral laboratories.

Nobody will be flown to London or Germany.

Those of us abroad will stay abroad.

Let everybody sit down somewhere.

I hear our girls in Italy have hunkered down.

There is a snake in the monkey's shadow.

I wish the virus could hold hostages and demand ransoms.

It could have helped us get our stolen wealth back.

For the first time in this country, if a minister falls and breaks his head, he will have to remain and be treated at home.

There is no test facility in the whole of the north and none in the east. Yet we have governors.

Yet we have thousands of Teaching Hospitals.

Look at Port Harcourt. Nothing!

UNTH and UCH can't test for Coronavirus. Tufiakwa!

But it's good. Better.

If it's die, we all die here! together.

I'm not trying to sound wicked, but I believe it is good news that the coronavirus has hit our elites first... Every year they would budget billions of Naira for healthcare and end up doing nothing! They see UK,US,China,India, etc as a safe haven for their medical needs and leave the poorly equipped hospitals in the country for the poor... Now it's time they had a taste of their own medicine....it's time they feel what we feel.... Its time they sit down and reflect on their mistakes and correct them...

I think Nigeria Is better prepared to tackle this than the US or what do you think

when I was telling you and some folks who know nothing about Nigeria and how the elites run this country

you guys where raising dusts

it is so unfortunate some One called the NCDC hot line yesterday in Lagos they told him they no longer have space in isolation centres and that the private hospital should admit him...which none of the health workers could administer treatments to him... because they don't have the equipment and materials to do so.... the man was placed in a room...and left there later the family members came and start treating their brother on their own

the number of ventilators in Nigeria as at now is not even up to one quarter of the number in a district hospital in the US

they keep saying stay at home but how will the peasants survive if they don't work or go out to hurstle

I have told you before...you are privileged to be rich and be among the few outside the country thats why you believe this gang of thieves.

the president is not qualified to even manage a local province in an organised and civilised nation.

the money that have been budgeted and donations by folks like dangote might have been embezzled already.

bro forget it

this thing will spread to the poor soon and that will be deadly

I see churches coming to the rescue because they may later serve as isolation centres...my only fear now is the fact that Nigeria medical association are on strike

Nigeria Is a joke please

anyone who supports and praise this government here again that person will have me to contend with....
from all facts so far in Africa Nigeria handled this issue in the worst manner...

even Ghana quarantined travellers better, south Africa just worked on giving on residents at least 90 days of non payment of house rents

while it will cost Nigeria not up to 1B naira to pay the 40 million Nigerians with BVN the sum of 100k for this period but you know what this gang of thieves will rather embezzle this money than to pay

Nigeria is a charade.

I fear for the poor men on the streets even buhari I read there are working on the possibility of flying him out of the country for treatment what a shame

The government neglect of our health care system is getting exposed

I am just scared me don't pity the cabals and top politicians...the innocent average man in the streets I just don't understand why all this things are happening
For me, the spread of this virus has nothing to do with the govt, but the recklessness and nonchalant attitude of citizens. Despite several pleas from the FG that abroad returnees should self-isolate when they come back but you see them going to banks, attending Amvca etc. It's time we as citizens start to play our part in governance, no be everytime be govt

I am just praying for a miracle but this is a hard lesson we should learn but not experience.

The elites have so failed us and the masses have been so dumb for too long.

Everything that comes from the country goes to them and their children. Jobs, scholarships, loans etc. They let our health care rot. Let the educational sector decay. It is not just about Buhari's government. Including Wike.

How many human capital schemes has he done since he got to power? Can he state the amount of scholarship programs he has done in mass for the State? At least in Amaechi's time, we had thousands sent overseas on scholarship through the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) which Wike let rot.

How many free health care programs has he done?

Yet people will sing praise for Wike up and down.

What about production of medical equipment? I remember Amaechi setting up the syringe factory but today not talk of it. Songhai farm which took a lot of money would have been able to sustain the State and most of the Niger Delta if an pandemic outbreak occurs but no. Wike and fellow governors did absolutely nothing. Dino Melaye diverted funds in mass for sports cars and luxury. Now no money to get medical supplies. No local production to support because of absolute wastage by people lots of Nigeria praise.

I have been too angry for too long.
Apt. Our governors are the laziest set of people I've ever seen in my life, their blueprint is pay salaries (some of them still struggle to do this) do road, collect tax and go home. No inventiveness, they aren't even trying to industrialise their states.

is it mouth that you'll use to tell them to quarantine themselves

where are the the quarantine centres for someone whose house is in Benin for instance returns via the MM airport Ikeja where will she stay for 14 days
she will have to travel to Benin and that process give others on the way unknownly

that was how it got to Benin...but Small Ghana here made provisions for this quarantine hotels to isolate returnees upon arrivals.

how about the government functionaries that refused to be tested I mean the senators upon arrival from the UK

how about the chief of staff that refused ro observe the international standard of isolating himself for 14 days after visiting Germany and Egypt

are this latter folks not government? ??

bro please...Nigerians are not to be blamed for mal governance of this clueless folks

I reside in the FCT up till now I have not seen any major work being done by the FCT minister to stem tide the spread of this virus or educate the citizens

the bus/car parks are still crowded, drivers still carry 4 at the back of taxi/cabs the Minister by now through the NURTW should have issue a directive to cub this but nothing have been done

bro.... to be honest I am more reasonable and passionate about this country than many of this old thieves with no ideas of what to do in governance.

so please don't blame the poor man on the streets just because you're learned does not mean everyone is in a country of 66% literacy rate

our only problem was electing a man who has nothing to offer to come govern us and some of the state governors too
