Wengay the culprit again, fergie would have ruined rvp career instead of selling him to direct opponent

Whoever sanctioned Van Persie's sale to a local rival no just try at all.

Till tomorrow I'm yet to get over him playing for United.
E pain me die then he scored against us and fvcking vamelaen was wearing his jersey after the match.
No wonder fabregas said some players don't care about the club.
During viera/Henry time they dare not swap jerseys because it was war from beginning to end

Van persie is the reason why I will never support the club giving any player as many years as possible to prove themselves.

He's the reason why I will support the sale of I wobi over and over again.

Once a player fails to live to expectation either due to injury or just failing to grow from potential to full blown star, I say we sell him.

Van Persie was given the whole time in the world to overcome his injury woes. At a time he was literally being paid to stay in the hospital. Only for him to ditch the team immediately he had one full good season.

That is why I still feel the club didn't do anything wrong letting Carzola go.
I swear bro... Rvp fùcked up big time. I support you on that iwobi sale tho, even tho I never really liked we sold him. Who knows, maybe he'll do anoda rvp on us wen him finally blow

Rvp was a bigger snitch no doubt. That guy left us wen we needed him most after staying with him through his injury woes. Just cos of one world class season he had with us. Mtcheww!!

Lol, vermaelen try na. Shey na after match?
Andre Santos wey swap Jersey with van persie for halftime nko?

Mehn, we later had players who doesn't know the meaning of rivalries. That's why no one should hold fab, nasri, Sanchez responsible for jumping ship. The mentality of the players was so so so damn poor.

A club that isn't successful will have very few legend especially wen the environment is not set for him to thrive on.
Henry that we all shout that he is a legend, is really a legend cos the environment then was set for him to thrive then. When the weak mentality entered the team (post veira and bergkamp time), he flee from us and went to barca. He even shortchanged arsenal sef. You think if he came during the era of fabregas, he wouldn't have ran away from arsenal like fabregas?... Lol
Saying it's lame and insensitive is not fair on fabregas. Even as a fan, I knew how many times I was angry wen we know we needed a position filled just to become a title challenger and Wenger bottles it. And he repeats the cycle, year in year out. It's only someone unambitious and let's say a local boy(like wilshere) that will stay put. As long as you're not in this 2 categories and you're an elite footballer, it's a fact that you must run away from a club if you're not successful.
All fab says there is the truth and anybody that thinks otherwise then have blind love for Wenger.
Should Martinelli,Guendozi,Saliba,Saka and other youngsters mature into world class players, I can assure you, they'll tow the path of Fabregas,v persie and others.
Forget the current love and loyalty.

It depends. If we're still underachieving, sure they'll leave. But if not, I don't think most will leave.
Success retains top players at a particular club.

I am not blaming them or anybody for leaving. What I am saying is that leaving is a choice, and when you leave you don't become a legend, no matter the reason. There are players who stuck to their clubs despite years of trophylessness and obscurity. Their clubs now regard them as legends.

If you may recall, Fabregas had always wanted to join Barcelona. He said so himself, but he thought Barca would have any regards for him, unfortunately, it wasn't so, and then he wanted to come back to Arsenal but Wenger opted him to go to Chelsea for some cash, and then the story ends.

Henry left for Barca under similar circumstances but found a way to return to the club even scoring goals again and retiring here. That's what has qualified him as a legend.

let's be truthful here, the first goal he scored against Arsenal wasn't celebrated. the fans goaded (nay insulted) him non stop till he snapped.
he didn't have beef with Arsenal, it was a pursuit of his personal ambition.
talk about Adebayor and that's beef.

I'm not talking about his celebration against us wen he scored, I'm talking about how he left us wen we needed him most, wen we stood at him at his critical time. Nobody is against his personal ambition, what most are angry for is the loyalty he destroyed when we needed him.
He just gave arsenal 1 season. If he had stayed put at least till the 2nd full injury-free season, I'm sure no one will have hated him the way we do.

That's just my take, not necessarily the goal celebration he did against us.

Who wouldn't insult that snitch of a player, he doesn't most of his career in the hospital only to have a great season then snapped he deserved better.

that's why it's emotional outburst and not logic.
RvP was 29, Arsenal was in limbo. not like he was from the academy or smthn, easy choice for him.
City offered a more lucrative deal yet he showed it's not about retirement package.

I agree he's no Arsenal legend.

Well, it's his decision. To him, all is well that ends well(after all he won what he desired most)... But to us, he was a big betrayer cos of how we stood by him during his trying times.
Most clubs would have booted him out like Chelsea to a smaller unknown club, and he wouldn't have even have the opportunity to even think of his personal ambition, not to talk of moving to man u.

What did he expect from the fans? Praises? Claps?

I personally hold nothing against players who seek greener pastures away from Arsenal and this is because we have failed a lot of good/great players but RVP's is not one of them.

Dude was glass footed and almost needed a bubble wrap to play, yet, the club remained loyal against the warnings of many. He was only a hairline better than Diaby at staying fit. If RVP had any respect for the club, no amount of goading, including insults should have warranted that level.

Now that everything is done and dusted, they are now looking for avenues to claim legendary status at Arsenal, especially since the clubs they ditched Arsenal for don't even regard them as fans worth more legends......

I wasnt pissed seeing Fabrgas in Chelsea colors, even Adbayor's 100m.senior boys run in front of our fans didn't get me riled up.....but that can persie treachery is the reason why I will always want the club to dispose any young or old player that is trying to be unfortunate.

Success retains top players at a particular club.
Success and maybe Money will only retain top players.
Its a natural phenomenon, only the Steven Gerrard and few are interested in legendary status.
I personally was surprised to see Kosc and Rosciky stayed long, this days, you'll hardly see that.

OX's recent transfer to Liverpool( doing well and winning top trophies) could mean our youngsters may ditch us for a bigger club or even to a rival. No much loyalty in football this days.
They'll then appreciate us with a tweet of "This UCL victory against spurs is a win for the gunners", " This 7-3 win at spurs is dedicated to Arsenal " grin

And that'll be like a trophy for us on social media undecided

A club of Arsenal's standard should be able to field a quality starting 11(I don't mean big names), good enough to compete every week, and stops looking like a One man team like in the case of Auba,Sanchez,Carzola,V.persie Fabregas and Nasri.

lol... There's no surprise for rosicky and koscielny staying long in arsenal.
Rosicky was injury prone too, by the time he almost recovered, he was already old. No one would have bought him.
Koscielny, even tho he was good for us, really didn't impress any top club. No matter the speculation, he was never in the news for transfer (either rumors or confirmed) so I guess that's what made him stayed long. For his manner of exit sef at arsenal proves that if any serious offer came, he would have forced his way out.

Your bolded part is what I feel Arteta wants to achieve with arsenal (at least that's what I'm hoping on). To get to that phase, he needs to drill in the winning mentality into the players, and from what I'm seeing so far, I think there's improvement. With that, he can build on from there. Once we have that kinda team, no one will become indispensable ( man city and Liverpool comes to mind)

Henry became a statutory legend because he finished with us. Same cannot be said of someone like Ashley Cole for example.

Ronaldo can be a United legend, but he won't have the official status.

Drogba gave the best part of his career to Chelsea. Coming back to finish there is a huge bonus.

Rooney gave his best part for United, he doesn't need to finish there, he has legendary status.

Fabregas left at his peak, he failed in his attempt to return back when he could still do things. He shouldn't expect us to rename London Colney after him.

Look at Arteta, came from Everton, gave us his peak career, left, came back to manage us in this trying times. He only needs a title to have his name besides Emirates.

Welcome to the Arteta Emirates Stadium
