Prestonn: I didn’t realize we are fish tank buddies. Mine’s about the same size as yours. Question: you use homemade food or store bought? I currently only have 5 angel fish in mine. Everything keeps dying. Even my rugged pleco fish that keeps it clean and algae-free just died. Sometimes even a water change at perfect temperature and ph causes all of them to die . Love them but it’s kind of tiring. How are you maintaining yours? 1 Like |

FutureFocus: Thanks! Do you use same recipe or you change recipe? I'm referring to the 'not consistent' issue. I use 3 tablespoon of butter for 2½ cups of flour. I add the butter when kneading. I activate my yeast in sugar/milk warm water before using it. Also note that using too much sugar to activate can kill your yeast. Using 2 tsp sugar to activate 2 tsp yeast. For the flatness issue, I always preheat my oven before baking so the heat is evenly distributed. I don't know the recipe you're using but ensure you knead your dough till it is soft and elastic..a mixer works well for this... however, I use my hands cos that's not available and it works perfectly for me.....bake/knead the pains away You should also proof your dough till it doubles in size. This should take about 40mins to 1hr. Sometimes, my dough starts rising even when I'm kneading...... Lemme drop my recipe 2½ cups flour 3 tbsp sugar + 2 tsp for proofing 1 egg 1½ - 2 tsp yeast I warm milk or water 3 tbsp margarine or butter Mix the sugar with warm milk or water Sprinkle your yeast in the milk mix. Cover and allow to proof. The yeast is active when the mixture is spongy (foams) Add in your egg, sugar and flour. Mix till they all come together. It's usually very well sticky Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead..add the butter, knead till the dough is soft and elastic. Kindly note that the dough will be very sticky. Don't be tempted to add flour or butter. Just knead till the gluten forms. This is usually hard work for me. Sometimes, I get muscle cramps and will leave for a while and continue. Transfer to an oiled bowl. Cover and allow to proof for 50mins or until double it size. Deflate the proved dough, cut into small pieces. Roll and shape into your desired sizes and shapes. Cover and allow to proof for about 20 - 30mins. Coat the dough with egg/milk wash Bake in a preheated oven for about 10 - 20 mins. Depending on the sizes For my above bread, I used Tangzhong, a Japanese technique for making the bread soft and fresh Im sorry for my lengthy write up 22 Likes 12 Shares |

cococandy: Happy to know you love fish tank and also have one....it hurt seeing fish die. Very sorry. I guess there is something you're not doing right. I always get my food from the shop-Golden Fish Flakes or Pellets I do rinse my tank with warm water. NEVER use soaps or detergents of any kind; they’re very harmful for your fish. For general cleaning, I remove my fish with a net and place them in a large bucket with some of the original tank water not fresh water... Not all tap water go well with fish, Untreated tap water or drinking water has chemicals and minerals that could harm the fish. I always avoid overfeeding my fish. Overfeeding can make them die also.....I also make sure my filters are clean. Don't get tired, continue trying. 15 Likes 1 Share

Thank you. I actually do all that. Except the warm water rinse. Next time I clean the tank, I’ll try it. Something tells me my type of fish are fragile. I haven’t tried any kind except the angel fish and the pleco to eat all the algae . I usually buy feed from PetSmart. Yours are so pretty and colorful. I love it. I used to have the colorful angel fish and they all died. Now I only have the black and white and striped ones. 5 of them but they are so tiny. I’m giving them room to grow that’s why I didn’t buy the big ones. I feel like if I put another kind of fish in there, they might kill each other . Prestonn: 11 Likes

Mariangeles: FutureFocus: I think I did provide explanation then when my old and deactivated NL pals were wondering why the change of name. but I wasn’t active on the food thread as much then. Then coconutcandy was taken so I couldn’t use it. I wonder who it was that had that account and if they have deactivated by now too. |
