I actually finished using Excel to explore the data from the raw file given.

I collated number of deaths by each continent and in some cases some countries such as China and Canada were visualized further by province.

I don't know if Excel files can be sent here but Pics attached are a sneak peek of what I did.

Altogether, there are 10 worksheets for cleaned data from raw data and each continent viewed separately. If I can upload the document, I will if needed. Boss Ejiod, please check it out at your free time when I upload.

Forgive my excitement. It's my first time cleaning raw data and exploring using just Excel, first tool I've learnt (still learning).

Darling Canada visualized by Province.

Here is the Excel file. Pardon any roughness. I edited in a rush.

Looking forward to learning other Data analytic tools from this thread.

Timeline series below showed Death rate increased dramatically from the 12th of March in Italy with a relatively gentle upward curve.
However in U.S., it increased from 18th March at a very sharp upward curve showing that as time progresses, U. S. would overtake Italy in number of COVID-19 deaths.

With time, U. S. would possibly overtake Italy in number of deaths. Hoping a cure is found soon for all of us.

Modified: It's even on front page. They did so today. May we overcome this. CASES please. Not Death oh. Num of CONFIRMED CASES. Erroneously used Death instead of Cases while working with the data.

I tried downloading it, but I couldn't. It kept redirecting me to another page. I spent the whole day trying but to no avail. Didn't want to post about my plight cause the op said its like we are derailing and hijacking the thread. So I kept mute.

Thanks for the encouragement Boss. I just recently learnt Excel. Will download Power BI today to learn how to use dashboards. I recently stumbled into your thread and started learning data science/analytic tools. Thanks again.

You don't have to memorize any code. Write the code down and familiarize yourself with it, take many examples on that one giving you headache, use video, you will see the step by step.
Download "complete python bootcamp go from zero to hero" just follow the guy step by step, he's good.

Hey Kaycee, Ejiod.Check out this little thing I did. What do you have to say about it?? .Even tho I'm still an amateur in using M. Excel, I've been working on improving myself more by watching videos and practicing more. I wasn't able to download the raw data from the doc. Ejiod sent, so I used the data you used in yours to do mine. Just like the samething with what you did. Hope it's not bad?
I, however, have a few questions for you Ejiod.

– What are the basic tools you think I can learn to for me to be able to analyse and interpret any data. I've seen many tools online stated by people, but I just want to know the 2 or 3 that is really important for me to learn.
– I'm planning to take this skill very serious and be close to perfect at it. What advice do you have for me, Ejiod?

You guys feedback will be highly appreciated.

Nice work Bro. For Excel, try learning use of logical functions, Vlookup, Index Match, structured referencing and other formulas. It helps when working with dirty data. Most of the work done is cleaning the data before visualization/exploration.

Thanks for the prompt response. Firstly, what do you mean by cleaning data? Secondly, all those formulas you listed up there, are they inside M. Excel or they are a software on their own?, Thirdly, How were you able to interpret those data and predict what will happen next?

Happy Sunday!

Mastering the logic of programming is what actually makes you a programmer. Forget syntax, that one's easy to learn.
To hone your skills and creativity, you need to understand how to take a large problem and break it down to smaller bits.

A simple way to understand logic is by looking, learning, thinking and thinking hard. I mean studying as much examples as possible and solving as much exercises as you can. Let the exercises challenge your creative mind. These days I don't even write code on my laptop. I only sit back with a paper, thinking and writing pseudocodes and algos.

Believe me, once you are able to think up a solution, the codes are nothing, you don't even need to know the syntax, you'll learn as you code.

Happy Sunday!

If you downloaded the link Ejiod sent, the countries were scattered randomly, some didn't have the continent, everything was a mess. Arranging it in those tables so you can work with them is called cleaning data.

Second, the formulas are all functions in Excel. Just watch a video on YouTube.

Third, interpreting data is based on intuition. When you get raw data, clean it yourself and try to make sense of everything, you will be able to get an interpretation.

Happy Sunday Bro. I hope this isn't derailing the thread. Still waiting for Boss Ejiod's Chronicles.
