If the government does not know what caused the blast, they should invite foreigners to investigate. All these stories about the cause of the blast doesn’t add up

Harsh fact....... there are a lot of explosives already implanted in various sections of this country in advance of the inevitable war........ But because of our traditional inefficiency they are going off at random..........just postulating oh...

You guys should try to understand that if its actually dynamite, There is surpose to be multiple explosions.

Uploading HD detailed pictures from the Drone soon

Where did you buy the drone.

And how much is it.

I want to buy one.

It was a truck loaded with dynamites. If it was a terror attack as you claim, will a serious terrorist strike a lonely road in the outskirts of town around 1am, far away from occupied houses, where there is no possibility of casualties?

If you want to instill fear. Instead of take lives. And you dont want witnesses.

There is no need for all these theories. The quarry company in Edo State that owns the dynamites is known. They followed due process to move it with escort from EOD department of the Police.

Quarry companies use this stuff everyday to blast off large chunks of granite, limestone, marble etc from the ground.

They do transport it by road from point of purchase to quarry site. It's only unfortunate that an accident occurred this time.

Even if you open some people's brain they won't listen to you. Ignorance is a disease.

Since the explosion was caused by the negligence of the military I hope those affected would be compensated by the military

Thabks for sharing

I wish we knew what the arrows mean.
Also the distance between the buildings and the crater
So no remnants of the truck?
Your frirnd tried but should work more on it. Maybe he needs a higher definition camera or maybe nairaland compresses too much.

The depth of the crater created can be used to establish a decision
most likely a very small meteorite.
Re: Aerial Pictures Of Akure Explosion by Nobody: 8:18am On Mar 29, 2020
Could 'they' have used bomb & gas combination to create maximum impact like the Lagos explosion. This is also coming due to so called government agency. Nigerians watch out ooo!

Forget about the sticks of dynamite you see in films please , that's not how the dynamites used for rock blasting work , in rock blasting the dynamite is set up at site just like your are cooking and the rock is the final ingredients that encases the mixture to secure the compression needed for a particular velocity of blast .... Even if fire guts a truck carrying dynamite bags what you will get is a low velocity combustion just like gunpowder or matches burning and even if it's your movie type dynamite sticks the will erupt like in many small explosions and not a single explosion..you don't understand how different explosives are set up
Oge dynamite is an explosive not a conflagrant so if it catches fire it will explode
Dynamite is nitroglycerin mixed with keseglaugh
So it will explode

I really get your point. The dynamite really composed of different mixtures and have to be cooked.

Where is the vehicle carrying the explosive like the government said, because so far I'm yet to see it or it's debris in all the pictures have seen online so far. Hummmm Nigeria
The government is just trying to cover up so as not to create any panic. It was never a truck explosion.

My God this is one road I frequented 2013 - 2017 by self and afterwards I resorted to public transportation

Such a lovely road to do formula 1, but see what this explosion has caused

We are yet to hear of casualties so I pray no one dies, it is possible

The owners of the truck must be held responsible to fix the road, fix the buildings and compensate those who had direct impact of the sound and vibrations.

May God save us,
see now those calling for war, see now!
We should be praying for peace and looking for other ways to revolutionise without violence

You have been insinuating that it is a VBIED. Do you think VBIEDs are made of one single large bomb?

Is possible, like size of drums.

Next on the list is 2020 FB that is much bigger than the first at 177 feet, but is slower at 10,000 miles per hour. It will fly past our home on Mar. 25, a day after the first asteroid, at 12:02 pm EDT. This is an actual asteroid that lefts it's original path and actually struck Earth as opposed by scientist predicting that it won't

Rock blasting dynamite need a primer charge called the blasting cap to set it off ... Without that cap in place it's very hard to set off quarry dynamite .. why do Nigerians like arguing about stuff they clearly know nothing about....if I put 500 beans ( stick )of dynamite in a ware house and set it on fire the combustion pattern will be different , most of it will burn like gunpowder or matchstick ,a few will have low velocity explosions but they can never go off in one single blast except they were rigged to do so and that's a lot work and mastery

All these analysis is meaningless. You are talking about high velocity/low velocity. What do you think dynamites meant for blasting hard rocks will do? these things aren't toys.
Dynamites are very high explosives that's why they are widely used in mining.

The explosion caused by one stick of dynamite is really massive. Imagine what happens when a truck loaded with hundreds of sticks catches fire.

instead of you to sit down and learn you are attacking knowledge

Depending on the charge used and the rigger ,if it a nitroglycerin based bomb the rigger might right many charges together to go off as one huge charge blast but for C-composition RDX based charge like I suspect was used here because of the blast signature on single charge is usually deployed .

Maybe you stop wasting your time explaining things to people who don't wanna learn. Rock blasting dynamite does not have a power of its own. Like you righly said, it has to be cooked i.e other ingredients have to be added to it be you (blast master) can get a desires taste (impact).

First of you need to drill a hole in the rock (6m or as directed by the BM), you fill each hole with minimum of 33mm dynamite sticks, you need to trench/connects the sticks with curtex (a highly flammable wire), you need to carefully choke/cover the holes and then link the curtex to a detonator.

You will need a about 600 10m deep holes filled with 5 33m dynamite with less than a metre interval to get a degree of kiloton that would create this crater..

I've had to mischievously throw a stick of dynamite (stone blasting) into a burning fire before and it simply went "kpoof" ... like a match stick.

Except this was a couple of VBIED's, I strongly suspect a 30,000km/hr moving meteorite.
