Hi OP. If you are using a drone you could make a DEM of that location to gain more info such as volume, depth etc for your research. Someone mentioned that the set up could be made to explode at once. That will be a clear terrorist attack and no longer an accident. To set up dynamites require careful connection of NonEL or other times with no delay planned. It may be worth noting that at a distance, slight delay in explosion won't be really noticeable because of echo and travel of sound/ vibration Kwon1999: 2 Likes |

Ulomoney: High velocity bombs rarely leaves fires behind after the initial explosion flash rather the release hot gases that scorch things and you can see that some of the land was scorched , bombs that leave fire trails are called incendiary bombs and they are designed using either Naphthalene or magnesium depending on the type of fire the want it to fuel . 1 Like |

sagaciousblog:You can't seriously be arguing that dynamites cannot explode on transit and cause a deep and wide crater after reading the link I posted to you of a similar incident that happened in the US. |

In view of the above Post blast scene , I suggest that a discreet investigation should be establish to ascertain if the aforesaid explosive were professionally loaded inline with the explosive act and regulations, this became necessary because some explosive earn users as at today are used to shortcuts and thereby violates the rules of engagement simply because they claimed they know top ranking Officer's whom might have condescended to their bargaining power to the detriment of their subordinates ( field workers)& the society in general. The point I'm trying to prove here is that, before explosive is conveyed from point( A to point B) they are expected to be premorp by the Office of Ministry of Mines and Power in collaboration with the Police Anti Bomb Squad also know as EOD Explosive Ordinance Disposal which will be satisfied okay before any further action. Today's Ministry of Mines and Power has failed the safety and security posited in her capacity to function ultimately, because majority amongst themselves are corrupt. Meanwhile, some unit Commander's attached to the EOD are not left out of the hook because haven't noticed the irregularities in the forgoing especially in the areas of logistics and storage have the power to commence on the activation of such movement. Another aspect is that the Investigator should be able to know if caps were loaded alongside the Explosives which might be the reason for such uncontrollable explosion, though a strand of Nitroglycerin can be burned without explosion but not when Cap is conveyed in same container. The lapse in in this case it isn't far from human error. 2 Likes |

GamalNasser: If it was a signature truck bomb the trained eye will immediately know from the explosion it will cause around. The fiery destruction will be a telltale sign. There's no explosion in this instance, just a very powerful crash. 1 Like |

all these people saying meteorite up and down are probably paid by the government to deceive us. Any thinking human with a functioning neuron will obviously know that this is a bomb!!! whoever did this is trying to send the government a message or probably just show their capability. That's why they chose a sparsely populated area. And also, the footprint of this blast has a striking semblance with the abule ado incident. Nigerian's wake up!!! 2 Likes |

GamalNasser: 1. The Nigerian Police Force could not obviously find an explanation or ascertain what exactly happened. 2. The State governor needed to tell his people something to calm their nerves. 3. Of course we know the next probable cause they would come up with. .............we move 2 Likes |

MakyavelitheDon: Most likely a bolide. . . superbolides can do worse. See Chelyabinsk and Tunguska, Russia. The above was my comment yesterday. OTOH, it could be something else . . . we'll keep an open mind, let experts visit the site and let's get 'substantial' facts: truck remains and other vehicles in the convoy remains, satellite info, foreign materials on site, names and pictures of individuals involved, name of the company that placed the order, name of the gov't agencies involved, etc. Whatever it is, we want to be cocksure it is what we are fed it is. We want to learn from it and act on the lessons learnt. |

SlayerForever: Where do you guys get the idea that bombs create fires , a high velocity bomb will just create a bang flash and distorts the air pressure with hot gases ... Bombs that set off fires are called incendiary bombs and they are designed to do just that explode and set of fires difficult to extinguish ...The science of explosive is deep , it's not one formula fits all 3 Likes 1 Share |

ivolt: if you're not an half brain, you will read where the Ondo state governor said after the acclaimed responsibility of the Npf, investigation is ongoing in regards to the careless disaster so asking what can I do when investigation is going on shows how slow you're in reasoning. to even prove how dumb you're, this thread is about disaster that look like attack in Ondo state, you're talking about Coronavirus. how does these two thread mixed? Very true. I have worked in a cement company. The quarry department which comprises of the department that blast limestone with dynamite. It comes flat until wires are connected and linked to a positive and negative battery before blast can occur. GamalNasser: 2 Likes |
