Mosquito kills about 321 people daily in Nigeria which is about 95000 yearly, yet no sit at home, no lock down, no media noise, but a virus that kills people with weak immune system which are mostly infants (very low ) and old people above 60 years with a fatality rate of less than 4% has locked down everywhere including Nigeria?

One person dead in 3 months plus in Nigeria from the virus, yet everywhere is locked down?

Book haram has killed more than 15,000 Nigerians, no lock down
Bad road
Bad hospitals
Armed robberies etc have killed more people than the so called virus, yet no lock down

Lassa fever still killing Nigerians in the hundreds, no lock down
Ebola killed thousands, no Lock down.

Please what makes this so called virus special that we are being made to shut down everything?

Is it because the elderly ones its attacking are mostly leaders of the world?

I need to understand what made this different!

the difference is because this one is transmitted faster bro.
How do you curtail a pandemic that is air transmittant?

Actually it's not air transmittant

You don’t want lock down ba ? You are comparing this issue to malaria right ,a virus that there haven’t been a cure yet

Till when Nigeria go turn to Italy na then your eye go clear ,I am sure you have old people in your family above 60 which you do care for

To be sincere you didn’t make any sense

Faster yet the fatality rate is less than 4%

Meaning it has just 4% chance of killing you except you have a weak immune system or an infant (below 6 months)

It has affected more than 620k people but less than 28k dead in 3 months.

Check the rate at which malaria is killing, which is more deadly? Why has the world not eradicated malaria? All those donating billions, what are they doing about other deadly diseases with higher fatality rate? No lock down?

To me, only infants and elderly people or those with weak immune system should be made to be indoors while the rest only go near them after carrying out the height and hygiene instructions.

The world is hurting from the Lock down than the so called virus.

Sucks

Today the governor of the state of new York said they need 30k ventilators ranging from $25-40k. Long story short, that number would be way higher in Africa. We don't even have a health system to start with talk less of the possibility of improvement. Rich people will buy their own ventilators and get treated at home while the poor will die like ants eating poison.

Let me put you to test, did you check the links I dropped? How many of the deadly diseases have you called for a lockdown for?

If you have read the suggestion I made, you would not have typed this weak comment, but then most of you dont read, especially a simple-minded person like you.

Oga lock down is a measure taken based on the contagiousness of the disease as advised by health experts. This is for the sake of containment.
There was a time if you had chicken pox you would be quarantined, I remember I was quarantined. Now there are effective treatments, those measures are no longer needed.

Which of the diseases you mentioned is as contagious as covid19 and which of them has no vaccine or something that can help cure it, and which of them, and which of them would a lockdown had been effective against.
When ebola was on rampage, there were lockdowns in Congo, Sierra Leone and liberia, even a village in the east was placed on lockdown when one of the nurses fled there.
If we don't lockdown, the whole health system can collapse and we would be dying of every opportunistic diseases that we have already been handling.

Let the vulnerable stay indoors instead of plunging the whole world into a more deadly reign which is recession that breeds hunger.

Hunger and poverty will cause more death in the long run.

You won't need all these billions if this can be done.

Thank you

How can someone be comparing malaria situation to covid-19

I have never been scared before as now despite that i have never been admitted to the hospital since I was born ,the fear of covid-19 is the beginning of wisdom ,even if my immune system is strong does that mean I want the spread to continue just as it has in Italy then we will loose so many elderly ones ?

Let the vulnerable stay indoors instead so that the healthy can continue running activities, if not the world will suffer more once recession hit deeper.

We have more people in the informal sector than any other sectors, who will feed them when they can't make money? You guys are comparing countries 5 times older and more organized to ours. They have paid their dues and outgrown the stage we are now, so they can afford to sustain a standstill economy for a while. Can Nigeria do such? Oil is selling for less than $30 against $56 benchmark in your budget and you even borrow to run your country. In the next 2 weeks, Nigeria will know what's up!

Bro, it has just 4% mortality rate. That is 4/100 of you dying from it.

No healthy person has died from it so far
Even those with weak immune system are surviving it too

Malaria is about 40% fatality rate but because it hardly kills any of the elites, you discard it as they also discarded it.

They have used the media to put terrible fear in all of you because this one will affect them.

Herd mentality thing and I ain't buying it.

Yes it kills but the fear mongering is just outta this world.

I rest my case.

FYI info, i have alot of elderly people around but they are all okay and no fear mongering around them. Told them to reduce their public exposure!

So who defines the healthy and vulnerable, how do you know you are healthy enough to fight it, the healthy would bring the disease to the so called vulnerable..and of course young and healthy people have been dying from it, doctors and nurses are also dying due to their exposure.

Even when you survive from it, the lungs can be so damaged, that it could lead to complications and other health issues latter.

The govt should just be sensible, loans can be given to people for them to survive this period and they can pay back when things get better...a sincere govt will find some measures to ease the pain.

But downplaying this virus is deadly.

This is how the Italians started when their country recorded a few case of the virus...see where they are today...

Prevention is better than cure! ...our government already made the mistake of not shutting down our borders early, don't ask them to make another mistake of letting the virus roam freely until it creates an effect too big for us to control...
You can't compare coronavirus to malaria at all ..there is a cure for malaria.... There's no known cure for coronavirus yet... Even if it affects only the elderly and those with weak immune system,it will still affect all of us indirect...
Do you know that the world might enter global recession if the pandemic lasts for longer?

How can you be defending terrorists online? Imam of Peace is making sense die.
Anyone against him is a fanatic and has the potential to become a terrorist!
Christian's persecution in Nigeria needs to come to an end now!
All attacks on Pastors both online and offline should stop. If you cannot cushion your Alfas, Imams and governors spreading hate please leave our Pastors and Christians alone.
Stop the hate against the church. Face your Atheist, Islamic or whatever agenda.
The church is not the one promoting violence, the church is not forcing anyone to pay tithe or give offerings.
Instead of you people to face a religion that promotes violence, you are here criticizing the peaceful church!

those attacking imam of peace should be ashamed of themselves
he is far ahead of them in every way rather than to attack his message with facts they're busy attacking his person of what essence? ??

imam of peace focus is on extremism and jihadist around the world and he is perfecrly doing that everyone appreciates him I mean those that love peace

I think the dragging lately will make the Nigeria government to wake up from its slumber because so many lives have been lost already
