I don't like these back and forth... All I know is that all accounts dropped for giveaways are SAFE from fraud except the account owner knowingly or unknowingly participate

Its not safe, what if someone like invictus is on this forum and decided to do giveaways with stolen funds and decided render help and send money from a stolen account to you, you will be thinking he helped you but he didnt. I do watch scam program and ive watched series of ways scam can be carried out.

The law enforcement agencies are aware of some of the things you mentioned here .They warned people to report any money that entered their account from sources not known to them personally . For instance if you are asking for 20k help from someone and suddenly u receive 2million from that person , the best thing you do is to report same to your bank before they flag u. Don't attempt to withdraw it and send balance to any account they plan to give u....This scams are in public domain ...

Oga, 2014 i recv alert of 9,970# dat is 10,000-30#
After two weeks as i see nobody call me, na 2,2 thousands i use atm finish the money, the money com cool like wetin.

Last last.. They will tell you ro refund the money and block your account.. You ain't in trouble.. You need to read more scams and see how these things work. So if I am broke and I ask my friend for money and he gives me.. The next day, he is caught by efcc and he mention that he has given me part of the money.... What will I be accused of?

I see people post their banking details here so I care to know if such act has a consequence.
If it has, then I feel bad for the potential victims. I don't blame them sha.

There is no consequences brother, every banking transaction passes through authentication before being successful, so emere account number, bvn number can't authenticate anyone to commit fraud with ur bank account

they are lying.. Nobody can withdraw a dime from your account without your atm and password, without an OtP send directly to your phone number, without your PIn.. I repeat all accounts here are safe.. These accounts can only be used for frauds with the consent of account owners

Oga technology is too wide, he/she only needs to know your location it's possible. Be mindful of what you post online or apps you install on your phone.

that is not the issue.. The issue is will putting your account number on giveaway thread safe?.. The answer is yes!

And there are cases whereby fraudsters willingly transfer money into an account and start giving excuses of mistakes of recipient or figures to the innocent account holder so that he or she can move the money to another account or even help cash it out for the fraudster.
This lands the innocent account holder into big trouble he is totally ignorant of.

Is of the truth that most Nigerian youths are dumb. How can someone say he's giving away 10bil to nairalanders and you rushed in to drop your details.?
there's no danger in dropping an account number, the danger is in dropping your card number

Your bank account is like your personal identity.

Posting bank accounts online is dangerous.

You could be used as a money mule.

Your account stolen and used for financial identity theft.

Your name stolen and used for fraud.

Fraudsters can use your banking info to send stolen or scammed money into it, if your account is flagged, it will be freezed.

It can be used to sponsor terrorism activities, that one na big trouble you don enter.

Money laundering ko,

That's not true, so why are scammer and terrorists not using the government, church and other corporate account details posted everywhere? You need to divulge more to be used as a courier. Millions or bank accounts are available or just for asking.

Why will someone wire stolen money to unknown account?
It's only when you reveal sensitive infos like bvn,and credit card details you will be exposed to such troubles

So with only the account number, he can get the person's phone number to contact abi?

I am amazed that over 50 people liked your comments. I have one account with Bank PHB then. B4 it metamorphosed into it's new names.

I had changed my mobile number. Hence I did not receive alert on that account. because I did not use it for anything. It remained dormant for years.

However, I receive notification via my old email. One day, I was receiving notifications in successions. Monies were moved in and out of my account in successions. I received about 10-20 notifications within about 5 minutes. I did not bother. And I did not go to the bank to complain. because the account was not useful to me.

Its not safe Oga. The person can transfer 10million naira into your account and private chat you that he made a mistake, that he wanted sending 100k but pressed more digits cos he was drunk. That he will strike a deal that you withdraw probably 8million and meet him at a public place while you keep the remaining 2 million naira as your gift for being a good honest guy who could be willing to return his money despite his error.
Not knowing you're been used and later you will get into trouble with anti graft and fraud agencies while the main fraudstars escape.

Well done Sexylassie2.

Valid argument too Babyfaceafrica.

However, let me put a clear on this as one who has been in the financial sector for a while and has seen quite a number of people take a walk to the EFCC 's Office.

1. Social Engineering is real and those guys here claiming to want to share billions is just a phase of social engineering.

2. You guys may be enlightened and well to do but on the average, a substantial number of Nigerians are not.

3. As mentioned above, a number of these guys will do anything for a promise of 100k.

4. If people can be so complacent to give away their BVN nos, ATM PAN and C.VV to a fraudster during a phone call speaks volumes. Who says they can't be socially engineered to give away such, especially when their name, bank and even account number are correctly mentioned.

5. Someone mentioned kidnapping, well, that's also a remote possibility.

I've seen people being arrested for freebies. Some allowed their accounts to be used as conduit and they are facing the music. Some, not all.

Lastly, why would you be expecting free money especially in a forum like this where scammers abound.

People should be careful and think through their actions.

Cheers!

once you re aware of any illegal activity in your banking details, then you have become full accomplice.
What am saying is that no fraud can be perpetrated without your knowledge with only your bank account details

Lolz. Guy say what you know. Pls. I know someone who could get your passport through the slip you throw away at the ATM stand. Say what you know.

Giving out your account number and only your name attach does not pose any threat. it is only when you give out ATM card number, bvn and pin number you can be endangered.

you cant use governement, big churches and mosques, it is not smart.

but many small businesses, ngos, churches and mosques accounts have been used for transfer of ilicit funds and used for money laundering
