This is ridiculous. Why is it that when Nigeria wants to copy the West, the do so without use of common sense.

...so they want all supermarkets to close down during the 2week lock down? Whereas here abroad all supermarkets are open despite several weeks of lockdown because most foodstuff are perishable and having access to food is a major necessity!

In Nigeria, leaders reason like animals and there's no common thought/ consideration for the average man. . I heard banks will be open during the "lockdown" but foodstores will be shut for the next couple weeks abi? Sanwu Olu told Lagosians to do their shopping today in preparation for what's to come.. lol .. so those that cannot buy food today should go and die right? Pathetic!

That's why some people call our nation a "Zoo"!!!

Always like an animal kingdom here.

It's not panic buying. They just minimized the number of people that can enter. So they kept everyone under the tent.

It can never reach the crazy level in the West as at last 2 weeks or last week.
The only problem is that prices will skyrocket.

Already skyrocket, coming back from the market and I was shocked.

Madam, calm down.
I don't think the supermarkets will be shut down. They provide food, especially those that carry groceries and other perishables.
I believe he just said that so majority of people residing in Lagos would be off the streets in coming days. No more business as usual, crowding the roads, food markets and supermarkets. People would only have to dash out to get things they've run out of and be back home immediately.
Police can't very well turn away a mother going to the supermarket to buy food for her children or family. You get what I'm trying to say don't you.
