Despite the temporary closure of Nigeria international airports, a chartered flight from the United States of America, USA, Monday landed at the Muritala Muhummed International Airport, Lagos with 35 persons aboard. The passengers aboard the flight are Americans working with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

The chartered flight is one of the “essential flights” granted permission by the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Aviation, to land during the suspension of all commercial and private jets movements in the country due to the Corona virus pandemic.

“The letter seeking permission to embark on the flight and land at any of the Nigerian major airports was sent to the Ministry of Aviation for approval and communicated in a letter to the various Aviation agencies to ensure seamless facilitation of the flight”, a ministry official said .

After thorough screening of the American passengers by officials of the Port Health services, they departed on an Air Peace airline chartered flight to Calabar their final destination .

Recall last Thursday , a similar essential flight was done by Air France who evacuated 260 Dutch, French and German nationals resident in Nigeria and wanted to leave the country.

The Air France is expected to evacuate more people on the 2nd and 9th of April, 2020. In the coming weeks more of these evacuations are expected with the permission of the Federal Government through the Minister of Aviation as essential flights.

All international flights have been banned from coming to the country and the four major international airports in Lagos Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano closed to flight operations by the federal government.

Domestic airlines have on their own grounded flight operations across the country to help the government combat the spread of the virus. Currently, no flight operations in the country.

This is not about flexing muscles, make una learn dey type with sense. Dem no born any country well to land for Naija without prior notice to the Government, especially at this pandemic period. Only if there is war or the country is called Iran or Iraq. Get your facts right.
And Nigeria is not the first or fifth country America went to evacuate their citizens.

Even countries that have reported more positive cases and deaths more than what Nigeria has reported so far are evacuating their citizens because:

They fear that the number of people infected with COVIK-1-9 virus is more than what the media is reporting. (They can't trust the Nigerian government).

And

They know that Nigeria's health system is not even enough for her citizens talkmore of foreigners (After all they said Nigeria doesn't have up to 500 ventilators)

They've brought more asymptomatic carriers to come and wipe out Nigeria. They should be flown right back to the USA immediately.

It is highly insulting and condescending that NNPC not only hires foreigners but also from America that Trump bullshits us, even more sad NNPC a company that annually declears hundreds of billion in loss without making any kobo in profit is chatering planes for American staff like cabu cabu

Not only are Nigerian qualified engineers jobless in America driving taxi and flipping burgers, washing plates while Trump and his racist trumpster ridicule them, with a Nigerian student who paid millions of naira denied simple testing or treatment till he died, Nigeria just rented a full plane to fly American expertraites from US the desease capital of the world after Italy, to come to Nigeria and they where transported to Calabar without observing mandatory 14 days self isolation

Good Luck to Calabar people, NNPC just brought corona virus to you for free

Guys, we need mass testing. This Lockdown is just a trick to allow the virus keep spreading.

We need the elites to put pressure on the government to channel the funds for mass testing, isolating and treating infected ones.

Lockdown means nothing without testing, isolating and treating infected ones.

Because I winder why they need to evacuate their citizens judging our case to theirs. I think something is fishing and someone is not telling the truth.. God bless our dear country
