I stumbled upon an article and one of the many mistakes of MoviePass started when the Analytics firm filed to raise 1.2 billion dollars to keep MoviePass solvent. They filed to sell debts and securities. In July 26, 2018 the firm also borrowed 5million dollars in order to continue its operations and this raised alot of doubts from auditors and investors wether the company would remain in business.

Just to add to my knowledge egbons, how can a start up company survive harsh economic policies if one must borrow to stay afloat without fear of incurring more debts? Simply put, how can one avoid MoviePass mistakes?

Must borrow to stay afloat? not sure its a must though. The problem I have with borrowing is if you're borrowing to run operations, pay salaries etc. That's a sure way to go out of business. Borrowing should be for expansion, winning new businesses or contracts etc.

There are no guarantees, however if you take your time to do your research, study the market for a long period of time, plan your expenses to the kobo, things should work out. Depending on what you're into, the market can be very unstable. Some would say have back up plans. I personally think hiring professionals with verifiable success rate in that particular market can be key especially when you're looking to break into the market. They can be expensive but worth it.
