Yeah the coast is clear. I don’t really want to be too optimistic, since timing the markets is impossible.

My advice still remains, by nice companies in tiny amounts gradually. Set your orders. As someone said above, FPI leaving has nothing to do with us, they just want liquidity in dollars. That’s their business.

First we have coronavirus hanging on our neck, then the oil bruhaha, then we have the end time prophets and conspiracy theorists. All these will pass, If you ask me though I am a bit worried about the naira, though I think if our stock market moves positively, even if the naira drops more, some stocks “might” outperform the drop.

Exactly

100% growth overtime will outstrip the 20 to 25% max drop in naira value
Even if the drop na 50%
It's still a good deal if you ask me

What requirements for Morgan?
To fill acct opening form, attach valid means of ID, passport photograph and utility bill; if these makes you weak, I wonder what you want again, maybe free account opening.
Nice advert for wealth.ng anyway. Try and tell us more about them for comparison purposes. Some may also be interested if they offer better services.

As for UBA, N5 or below is okay.

Well, I am not in anyway advertising wealth.ng, I came across them late year and used them today to buy some stocks, so I basically know nothing about them.

Maybe I will calmly read the mail Morgan Capital send to me and proceed with the account opening.

Also, bought some UBA shares @ N5

Thanks

Looks like what now remains to settling the 'oil war' is Saudi Arabia.
The US and Russia seem to have started a fresh romance towards an agreement.
Russia state owned oil firm Rosneft has just announced a deal to sell off its 100% stake in Venezuela in all 5 JVs plus its oil-field services companies, commercial and trading operations, on the same day that the President of both countries(Trump and Putin) had a phone chat ealier.

https://www.neweurope.eu/article/rosneft-sells-its-venezuelan-assets/
https://tass.com/economy/1137667

For emphasis; The matter about Rosneft was at the center of issues which lead to a series of sanction on Russia by the US.
Maybe Washington is now closer to removing sanctions on Moscow.

The Saudis must have to bend. ...they will.
As I stated here in the past, they will even feel more heat than the US and Russia.(see link to post; https://www.nairaland.com/1131485/nigerian-stock-exchange-market-pick/5421#87434422)

Prior to this time, the Saudi economy has been deteriorating with several growth indices dealt a serious blow. Forget the low extraction cost. They will feel serious heat... Impact will be huge(the Nos are there to prove this)
No wonder they are now planning to sell a stake in their pipeline business to help shore up capital given the huge deficit that'll come with the current oil price slump.(the country already suffered an over 8% shortfall in GDP per capita in 2019)
Now they need to settle some massive payment, and they are strapped of cash.

The Saudis will feel serious heat !!
They must agree... grin grin grin

Some folks will make a kill from oil price. ...correction will likely be v-shaped and speedy.

Script still playing out just fine... wink cheesy grin

How long do you normally hold your stock...

Is there any strategy you use in trading stock that a newbie like myself should be aware of.

Wealth buys shares in their name and keep a tally of your buy/sells.

The advantage I can see in this system is that, you don't have to worry about mandate forms to receive your dividends.

I think TROVE does thesame for your local stocks but buys foreign stocks in your name.

The CSCS commission is in every transaction, either by a regular broker or online broker.

Let me help clear up some issues about wealth.ng

Wealth.ng is a product of Sankore Securities Limited, just like investnow.ng from United Capital.

Sankore Securities is your broker .

All shares you buy must be in your name, except you subscribe to the mutual funds products.

Some brokers can help your mandate with the registrars, while others will others will charge you for it.

It’s just having a number that proves beyond doubt “you” own certain shares. If something unfortunate happens to them (not saying it would), and they close/bankrupt, how will you prove you own certain shares? Note that because of said number I can move from one broker to another easily, will still meet the shares I own wherever I go too.

Call them and request for your CSCS number.

That is your number on the NSE.

With that number, you can you request account statement from CSCS, if the doubt you wealth.ng statement.

He can check the contract paper they may have sent him for the UBA purchase he said he made, the number will be there. That should also be the CHN number I think.

Ideally you should exit before them and position before they return

Thumbs up to all the contributors , the amount of information available to guide for profitable investing on this thread is mind blowing

I personally believe we will see more multi year lows for a number of stocks this April . We are in very interesting and I dare say profitable times

I won't wait for them to reach agreement before I start to buy o. Once they reach any agreement, market don take off because Brent will be running as if something is pursuing it.

Investors are also seeing that Italy and France seems to have peaked. Soon Spain will join. All EU will join. US could be last.

The volatility has reduced and normalcy seems to have returned. The circuit breakers will have to go on holiday. grin cheesy
