Okay so show us the statistics. How the heck are Nigerians living large in Nigeria? We have to provide our own water, electricity and roads - things that are taken for granted in Ireland. Should we talk about the lack of good hospitals? Why do you think that everyone in government always run to London and USA when they fall ill?
Please let us not deceive ourselves here, we have a long way to go

You don't get it, a guy living in Ireland paying 350 per month is renting a room.

Some Nigerians here have their own properties maybe small but it's theirs.

So the false pretence of living better than Nigerians is flawed .

Anyway think why would I lie, I'm doing this for you to know the truth because I'm not the boastful type and I love my peeps

It's not like dat bro. Converting it will only mislead you. Canada is planning to give $2,000 every month which ordinary won't be enough for a family on a normal day in a month when you have rent of about $1,000 to pay, car insurance, groceries, gas, power, heat, internet and other miscellaneous. So you find out that the money isn't really big in the country were it's given. Comparing those expenses with naija you will know why I said no need converting it.

You are depressed doesn't mean that I am depressed or that others are. People are even depressed in Nigeria as well as USA and other countries. so what is actually your point now. The post was talking about the COVID19 lockdown in Ireland and how the government is helping the residents but it seems you have digressed. You are now talking another thing. Please stay on course.

You can create your own thread to write about how people are losing their loved ones on a daily basis and cannot even attend the funerals.
axeman10:

Thank You for admitting it's a shared apartment..that buttresses my point that you are misleading Nigerians.. The fact remains people are depressed as they cannot make as much as they are making if working...but We are all willing to stay home and fight this virus together... Stop deceiving Nigerians that people are happy and living in paradise in the face of this pandemic.

People are losing their loved ones on a daily basis and cannot even attend the funerals.. You are here talking about being happy staying at home..

I won't comment on this thread again. Do have a good day.

Have Irish people made it yet?

Please Google homelessness in Ireland.

Money doesn't grow on trees unless you're into fraud.

A student Nigerian lawyer I met recently cleans toilets in a care home and she has a few months left to secure a job before her visa runs out, unfortunately Ireland is very racist, they'll hire Indians before blacks.

Majority here are into taxi, care work , security, some have African shops, the few who have office type jobs don't have high wages because the household income is low even though their gdo per capita is high on paper due to some dodgy tax deals used to lure investors.

It seems you are yet to roll with the right people. I have friends who finished from UL and Griffith College in Limerick. Two are now working in Facebook in Dublin while some are working in Amazon, Johnson and Johnson and other good companies. While some people are not making it in life, others are doing fine. You are only telling us about the negative side as if there are no positive sides too.

You should understand that people have different luck. So don't think everybody will struggle because you did.

The questions should be what services can you offer?

What are you really good at?

Have you equipped yourself with the necessary skills?

Nigerians who are good in IT and financial services are doing very fine here in Ireland. Even the health professionals are also doing fine here.

I am a rational human being who realizes that it's not the tears and calling on God that saves lives. It's the dispassionate understanding of natural phenomena, and how to influence it to our benefit. Whether it's viruses, floods, asteroids... prayer has not yet shown to be effective.

Don't believe me: please point me to a single example in the real world where prayer has regrown a limb so a cripple could use his legs again. It seems prayers work for most things except cripples.

Viruses and bacteria are natural and have always been around. Antivirals and antibiotics are also natural (in the sense that they are elements and molecules arranged in such a way that they affect viruses and bacteria). The arrangement may need human understanding to be manufactured, but it most cases (like penicillin), it was the discovery that chemicals from a certain fungus did harm to bacteria.

I hope this person that you've painstakingly explained simple medical pharmaceutical science for has the brain to comprehend it?

Kudos sha.

Go and see how some Nigerians are living large in Nigeria, you go bow.

There’s enough jobs for those that wants to work, move to Dublin if you can’t find a job there in Limerick, most people that I know there were working in dell before dell moved.Ireland is a great county and Irish people are the best in Europe very friendly people.

There’s no such thing as refugees camp here bro, there are few people in what they call direct provisions that’s all.

If you don't mind, I'll like to ask you a question. Do you think the big bang is real?

The Big Bang Theory is a model used to explain a broad range of observed phenomena, and currently offers the most reasonable explanation of how things came to be. In short, the universe is expanding (this is observable), and thus was likely smaller in the past. Follow this thinking to its logical conclusion and you'll get an infinitely dense pin point - a singularity which combined all matter and energy, when all the fundamental forces (gravity, electromagnetism, weak and strong nuclear forces) were all combined into one.

Many of the phenomena we can observe corroborate this story, so yes, I would accept - given our current understanding about the world - that the Big Bang is real.

We don't fully understand it, and there is a paradox that if all mass is energy (E=MC^2), was there 100% energy and 0% mass right before the Big Bang? Take an atom, it's 99.999% empty space, save for nucleus and electrons. Take a quark that makes up the protons, etc... 99.999% empty. We don't yet know what makes a quark and right now they understood to be the fundamental particles. It wouldn't surprise me that we discover that the next thing down is 99.999% empty. Keep going, and it starts to dawn on you that all the things we call "mass" and "objects" are actually forms of energy interacting with the fundamental forces. In other words, it's all energy.

As an aside, squeeze enough molecules into a space, the molecules start to attract themselves, then under immense pressure, nuclear fusion occurs, and bang! "mass" is annihilated and energy is released. There are billions of such bangs in our galaxy... one of them is our Sun. And there are billions of galaxies, all stretching away from each other.

My position is: if theists can accept the idea of a sentient entity always existing - the source of all creation, they should not have any trouble accepting the idea of a singularity event... the source of all creation. The former was the explanation before physics, and the latter is the explanation after physics.

what you are saying and what I am saying are two different things. Why are you bringing up the issue of struggle in Ireland. I never said Ireland is the best country in the world. I just shared my coronavirus lockdown experience and said the government is paying 350 euro per week to people before you started your long talk. I earn above that amount per week. My work is even still on because we offer essential services. My weekly wage was increased last week after government announced increment of unemployment fund from 203 to 350 euro.

You can still create your own thread to narrate your experience. It's a free world. Don't criticize me for sharing mine.

Funny answer. Let's suppose that you exist, where did you come from? You tell me evolution. How did the evolution start? Who took the decision for it to begin? There was no mind and no consciousness to take the decision. So you're saying the first living cell created itself and became you, whixh means the whole universe created itself. Do you really believe this or you're just repeating what you've being told like theist do?

See well marked roads. Nigeria will never mark their road for motorists to understand but will position one stupid LASTMA man to arrest you when you unknowingly pass the wrong road.

Also, some that are praising the neatness of the place do drop things on the road. We praise abroad but we don't want to do simple good things in Nigeria.

Nigeria situation is as a result of both the government and the citizens.
