Do you know you're one of the stupid people who plunged this country to it's present state? How can people be so insensitive! She's not asking for light so she can watch TV! She's asking for light because people spent 100k 200k to stuck their fridge and because no electricity risk everything perishing in no time. People had to burn fuel from morning till night what of people who can't afford it. Of course you're living with your parents and don't understand the struggle they go through to feed you as long as they give you money for cheap data you're good. Animal!
Sometimes I wonder why people buy fridge in Nigeria you are better off with a freezer

In a 4 minutes video, the actress spoke on how frustrating it has been in many Nigerian homes due to the lack of power supply. She pointed out that most Nigerians have gone ahead to stuck up there homes since the stay at home order was given but lack the power to preserve them.

She pointed out that using generator in this period is quite challenging because those who are also meant to repair the generator when they get faulty have also been mandated to stay at home which leaves many Nigerians in an unfavoruable condition.

Before the lockdown, I normally go sit at café to work. Now I am just stranded. No light, No café to charge due to lockdown, no water, no food, absolutely nothing. It will not be well with this useless government.

Have u not observed that. Whenever there is no power in an area people tend to go outside. But the moment power is restored people go back inside.

Who wants to stay inside the house just like that without electricity and with heat combined.

Freezer or Fridge I was referring to them collectively. I own both but we've not had light for more than a week. Ave been burning fuel to sustain my food in the deep Freezer my girlfriend spent days to cook for me. Suddenly the gen won't carry the Freezer anymore All attempts to service it failed because no gen repair man around, all shops are locked. Now I have to warm the food morning and night and charge my phones with my laptop. My soup don change taste and am considering throwing it away but thinking of what to do next. So I understand perfectly that is why the reply here is super annoying!

Most people responding to this post did not watch the video, they just read the headline and ran with it, because they can't afford the data to see the video.

Ada Ameh is talking about a real struggle for most Nigerians, maybe not for her, because she can afford to buy fuel, but for those who can't, and the people she is speaking up for are here on Nairaland, making silly jokes and laughing at her

So many Nigerians are just pathetic and deserve the abuse they get for government.

It is common sense, to demand regular power, especially now that people stocked up and bought perishables. She is not asking for 24 hours light, but an increase in power generation and distribution, to ensure people don't make huge losses, after stocking up, is not asking for too much, and should not be the basis for anyone's juvenile jokes

The most baffling aspect was accusing her of using the video as an avenue to let producers know her as she has become irrelevant. Ada Ameh? Irrelevant?

Regarding your bold, no be today. The vast majority of Nigerians deserve the suffering they get and it's why I don't pity them (those who make excuses for the government's incompetence). They really deserve to suffer!

Just look at use terrible, horrible senseless comments everywhere, see Nigerians condemning her!!!!!
Nigerians are doomed human beings!!!! Doomed!!!!

High time everybody stormed the streets in the who country and demand for a drastic change.
High time we all trooped out now and demand for restructuring.

Nigeria is the worst country in the entire world and Nigerians are the worst set of human beings in the world. Nowhere in the world where people put up such bulshyttt as bad roads, agberoes and incessant power outages, darkness!!!!!!

Darkness symbolises evil, backwardness, blindness, retrogressiveness, stagnation, desolation, wretchedness,....
Nigerians should wake up and rise against any government still saying no to the needed restructuring/true federalism!!!!!!!!!!

The vast majority of Nigerians are tribalistic and suffer from Stockholm syndrome. Besides, they are also timid. Last I checked, timidity laced with tribal reasoning cannot empower a serious protest. The last "serious protest" had comedians at Ojota in 2011/2. grin

Why is it that so many individuals in this country always speak without comprehension? Always committing fallacy of hasty Generalisation . You have light doesn't mean the next person does same . You will see then saying that power issue is a facade because in their area , they see power . You all are suffering from epistemic naivety
Don't come and tell me that u know grammer. What do u mean? She said she is suffering from power supply and I said in my area I enjoy how dose it affect ur mentality. U just want to mark register in my quote. Have marked u present. So are we OK now. Mtcheeeeew.

Day 1 of lockdown: Transformer don blow shocked
Quite logical and maybe replicated in other parts of the country.
Reason?
Since many people are indoors, there is greater consumption of electricity in homes where the transformers were hitherto designated to carry light loads.

You are very correct,I just hopelessly said that to give myself some splinter of hope.

Tribalism has made everything hopeless in naija.
I regret not travelling out and away when I had the chance some time back.

One thing I hate now in my life is being a Nigerian and being in Nigeria.

IBEDC is one of the most efficient in Nigeria. See how fast they worked on their burnt major Sub station in Oluyole Estate, Ibadan a few weeks ago and restored light about the 3rd day after the incident.
If that kind of mishap happened to IKEDC, their customers will not see light for 6 months. IKEDC is only good at distributing Estimated bills to their customers. Very shameful!

To give light is not just to turn on a switch.

The problem we have are many, the corruption angle; the National know how angle; the logistics and planning angle; the leadership angle, and the prospective future doers and leaders.

All are failed. The future part have failed also because since 1990 till today, I hear and can see that Nigeria have produced in mass numbers, highly questionable degree holders. Lots of sorting, bribery, frat, lack of infrastructure, are some of the reasons for our unreliable degrees in Nigeria.

If you go to the 1st world's now, the campuses of graduate degree students and some undergraduates are busy finding solutions and their results or datas are taken seriously.
If you go to any Nigerian University today, the kyn cobwebs wey go dey for the titration glasses, go make you think say na vasco da gamma use am last.
