Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun state are, officially, locked down, by the Federal government. Other states also have their state government-imposed lockdowns and curfews. Also, there are no cargoes coming in through NAHCO, and most interstate traveling and logistics have been shutdown.

Now, in order to prevent possible TLC and AIN deal scams, I'm suggesting that @dragnet should TEMPORARILY close or hide this thread.
I say this, because I saw a 'TV for sale' thread yesterday, and it appears that 2 or 3 people have paid for one TV, and with the lockdown, none of them will get the TV. I guess the seller lured them with a cheap price, and then told them to pay or deposit, for them to seal the deal, so that he won't sell to another person. Closing of the thread temporary, I wouldn't want such because it will even lead to dubious members opening their individual thread with the sole aim of scamming just like the case of the TV you quoted, I think the first page of this thread is a big warning to those buying either as existing or new members, so failure to read the first page before any transaction should be the total loss of such person. We can only try to help if it's possible but he/she should not think is compulsory.

I as a person is taking this "Stay at home" period to read some threads here on nairaland which I find helpful, so imagine if such threads were close down already. And I believed one or two person is taking his or her time to read about this thread also. I think best we can do is to try and counter any suspicious sales that will find its way to this thread before it find its prey.

I understand the angle you're coming from, but at the same time, your post is really effective with only TLC deals, I guess AIN deals during this lockdown period is not very different from how it has been. Why..?

Only Lagos, Abuja and Ogun State are on total lockdown. Don't forget there are some buyers and sellers on this thread in other locations where there isn't total lockdown, if a seller is in this type of location, he/she can still sell his/her AIN items to the buyer in the same location where there is no restrictions as long as they take precautionary safety measures, there's something called contactless delivery during this period especially within locations where there's no total lockdown (and it is being practiced even in New York and other places where cases are rising).

Note that it's very important to stay home and stay safe during this period but at the same time some things are sometimes essential. Thinking about it on the flip side, closing the thread will deprive some users (especially new ones) the opportunity to ask question openly hence, likely to fall into the wrong hands.

In short, anyone that tries to scam another person at this time is already a scammer and anyone that gets scammed during this period has definitely refused to ask vital questions or do his/her due diligence on the thread, the lockdown or pandemic is no reason for such acts. Stay safe!!!
