The standard of living in South Africa is much higher than yours, so obviously our version of poor is not almajiri poor A poor person in South Africa has four concrete walls, water to shower with & 3 square meals a day. Then we have those living in shacks, who also seem to live better than their counterparts in Makoko. Have you seen what South African shacks look like inside? Don't expect some dirty, sparsely furnished rooms. Most are well-furnished & NEAT.

I always find it odd that Nigerians are always going on about slums of other countries while their own floating Makoko is on another league altogether
