PassingShot: Did you just ask if Federal Government(FG) handled this Covid 19 matter appropriately? The answer from me is "No, FG didn't handle it appropriately". As much as I don't want to dwell on the past, I must say that the first major miss was the inability of the FG, upon discovery of the index case (Italian man) in Nigeria, to stop all international flights in and out of Nigeria and simultaneously restrict border movements and enabling effective testing at border gates for people who must exit and enter Nigeria. That is the reason we are in this mess so it is annoying and insensitive to have you put up this topic and try to justify FG actions with the body of your topic. I am more alarmed because you seem to be one of the e-rats on the employment of APC. How much do you guys get paid these days? 9 Likes 2 Shares |

We agreed to everything you said..... What can you say about the big men they didn't allow being quarantined after they returned from high case countries? What will you say about the opening of borders till their wards fully enter from high case countries? |

I can only give credits to God for limiting the spread and giving 0ur medics the right sense to tackle the pandemic. Left to our government , deaths would have littered our streets by now because they're not prepared. Health minister himself had said it all...the number of ventilators we have in Nigeria isn't up to 200. Shame! 5 Likes 1 Share |

PassingShot: Bros, If you don't test, 1. You won't know the number of symptomatic and asymptomatic cases (total number of cases) 2. You won't would know the cause of death, especially for pneumonia related deaths Finally, asking people coming in from infected countries to self isolate is simply government shirking it's responsibility. Government should have quarantine them with it's resource at the port of entry. Not doing this enabled the virus to gain ground. Even the government itself actively help spread the disease. Argue with Kyari and Makinde about this. The FG wasted so much time, and its action was not decisive. Apart from the speech that was beat out of the reluctant president, there is no FG command and control function in the response so far. Perhaps because Abba Kyari (the defacto president) has been incapacitate by the virus' calculated attack. 6 Likes |

FG had a plan of stoping the virus from coming into Nigeria. They put measures to stop the virus from coming into the country. These measures have failed and the virus has gotten into the country. But there plan has not changed. They are only testing people that came into the country recently and their close contacts. while community spread might be going on. They should change their plan and put more measures into stoping the community spread. And start testing everyone with symptoms. 1 Like |
