rebekah2011: I expect earnings to be negatively affected but the strong ones among the banks wiil do well relatively. The effect of the corona virus and low oil price will impact the banks and the country for a long time. We are lagging behind in testing people, there are a number of them waiting to be tested and as more people are getting tested, the number of confirmed cases is expected to spike. The initial 2week lockdown might likely be extended as that is our safest route. We have no capacity to manage an epidemic situation, will can only hope for success in containment. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Enyinne:Good you can trade by yourself now. Everyone using Morgan should learn to execute trades by themselves. I think you should not use "fill or kill" cos it will keep your buy or sell order locked for many days until it's filled or executed. Disadvantage includes inability to cancel it or modify the price, even if you see the price coming crashing down or skyrocketing. Just to chip this in, Morgan Capital already set the defaults to "Day" and "Limit", no need to visit those columns again (except you want to buy at market price), all you do is to enter your quantity, the coy ticker and set the price to your desired target. Hope this helps. Cc: ositadima1 7 Likes |

DrAwo: Please does Morgan Capital have an official application? Also, is the CSCS number obtained from Chaka valid for Morgan Capital account? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by 1kinggy(m): 12:49am On Apr 02, 2020 |
kintus: I think their web portal is more robust. So far the CHN is in your name, you can reuse it with ant stockbroker. CSCS will be happy to know exactly which shares you hold. |

Mcy56: 1st let me commend ur effort in always trying to lend a helping hand to the newbies in our midst. ...Ur doing a nice job. Pls keep it up !! However, ur description with the part in bold fits a different kind of mandate called; GOOD TILL CANCELLED(GTC) order or where the timeframe is definite, a GOOD TILL DAY(GTD) order. ...the former runs indefinitely but can be called-off in between, while the latter runs within a one day timeframe but can not be called off. The term FILL OR KILL(FOK) defines an order that must execute the moment it was made or it automatically cancels. ...put differently, a FOK mandate signals an order to instantly execute a trade(whether buy or sell) immediately or otherwise, cancel it. In retrospect, u are instructing the system to either execute the order NOW(the fill part) or LEAVE IT(the kill part) It can also be referred to as a FILL OR CANCEL order(they are one and same) By convention, a FOK mandate is usually a limit order. ...a brief; Assuming the trade book of DANGOTE SUGAR is; highest bid price @ N9, and lowest offer price @ N9.30 in a given market day. Now let's say that u hold 10,000 unit of DS and after estimating ur BEP, u intend to sell for no less than N9.15. But since N9 is the best/highest bid at the time, u can either use a normal limit order @ N9.15 or utilize the fill or kill order. Where u use a FOK order, the mandate will only execute if there was a price equivalent waiting order(a buy, in this case) to match it up, otherwise the order will automatically cancel. ...the same principle also applies when u are buying. One of the hurdle with using a FOK order is that the order volume must be filled completely at the instance of trade. ...there are NO partial executions. The interpretation of this is that even where there is an equivalent price match-up, the volume of the existing or waiting order must be greater than or equal to the volume of a fill or kill order, otherwise the order will NOT execute. With the illustration above; where there is a match-up, the vol must be >/= that ur 10,000 unit at the point of execution(the mement u click; fill or kill), otherwise the order will NOT pull through. One of the key advantage of using a FOK order though is that its a handy/useful tool for what I call "investigative trading" and "sniper trading"(the 2 parts in intalics is a clue to both) Those who employ the thing about inquisition and tactics to trading and investing will know what am talking about. There are also 2 other key tools though. Hope its clearer now. Selah 7 Likes 2 Shares |
