A Nigerian man based in Philippines said he was woken up this morning by government officials who gave I'm among others, a bag of rice, noodles, sausages and some other food items as part of governments gesture to help reduce the negative financial effects the sit at home order would have on its residents.

He wondered that if he who isn't a citizen was given such gifts, what then would be given to citizens, and even marveled that the government officials also took him phone numbers and gave him theirs, so he can contact them should in case he needs anything.

He then called on Nigerian government to try and do similar gestures which would go a long way to help its citizens

I understand frustration of most Nigerians but remember APC have only been in power for less than 6 years.

We are actually suffering from 16 years of PDP and 6 years of APC.

Foundation matters, sadly APC have come in at a time when afflictions seem to have remembered the world:

Such is life... still Government is a continuum thus the disses at this government remains valid

Imagine someone whose parents went through a lot educating him ,reasoning this way so after 6 years of failure ,hardship, insecurities this is all you could come up with to defend a failed government.... Your education is a waste.... tueh

Truth remains,if this lock down continues, ppl might revolt cos a hungry man who has a family to feed is an angry & vulnerable man take wat happened in warri as a case study.even the soldiers will av a dilemma choosing btw mass muder or running for thier own lifes

An average Nigeria who doubted this should never be blamed because we have govt that can't cater for her citizens. At a time most Nigerians need this feeling most, govt started using the word "most Vulnerable" to cause confusion.

Nigerian government (the masquerades behind governance) will rot in the hottest part of hell. I don't know where they got less privileged, most vulnerable from. What is the yardstick for measuring? Me I'm waiting for their relief materials o cos before my salary reach my hand dem don remove tax, onyiaras!

Even someone in Philippines with slums and poverty everywhere is still taking pics of noodles and canned drink worth N1000K to show us grin I won't abuse my country, if you like snap Bread and Chicken plus dollar notes, the main thing we hope for is for a cure for Corona to be found

PS: Philippines President asked police to shoot dead anybody that defies the lockdown order. So while you're commending him on supplying noodles, remember that the man is not an Angel

Pls let's call a spade a spade and shovel a shovel. In as much as I hate BUHARI as a person, let's be reasonable some times. Buhari will not come to your doorstep to drop foodstuffs or items for you. Those devils whose duty is to drop NEPA bills at my doorstep 10th of every month should also use that same method used in sharing NEPA bill every household and share all this items so that government will be free from our wrath soon. That's my take.

I used to think Nigeria and the Philippines were in the same level before. Now I know who be the elder brother cheesy

Our policticians; governors, ministers, senators, reps etc have used the people's commonwealth to selfishly enrich themselves. Now they can't even visit their houses in the US, Dubai and London.

No child benefits for kids, no social responsibility, no employment insurance. Infact nothing.

Yeah, bro. We'll always be glad we voted out an ineffectual buffoon who colluded with his minister to scam innocent Nigerian youths of our hard earned N1k in the 2014 immigration job scam.

let's not fool ourselves we can afford it, that same two trillion nsira not dollars suggest it to the members of the house of assembly and tell them it should be used for cushioning the members during this period of pandemic and see if the money won't crawl out, from time immemorial the dong gas been there is no money, few days later so so n so amount missing, so so so amount for ordinary renovation and for incentives, multiple hundreds of millions of naira, where are the money coming from
If you understand the numbers very well, trillions and billions and millions are not the same. If you doubt me just check out or annual budget between 1999 and 2007. Our budget was far less than a trillion naira bearing in mind that we have a lot of things that are exclusively for the federal government.

there are many ways to go about what we are discussing if they are really serious and they wouldn't have to spend that much

Yes if they're to provide palliative measures, they can use a particular amount to gauge the low income earning Nigerians using the BVN, but the poor ones amongst us may not have a bank account and they can't share the money on streets. And mind you giving out monies to Nigerians in that manner will definitely cause artificial inflation, you know how quick businesses are in increasing the prices of commodities when demand increases. So the ripple effect of such gesture would definitely be beyond the imagination of this myopic set of politicians we are cursed with in this Animal Farm sorry country.

I don’t need your failed country to give me any provisions or handouts during this lockdown period.

What I need this failed country to do is to fucking give me round-the-clock electricity! They should give me power to preserve the little provisions I have been able to stockup for the duration of this lockdown.

Have we asked for too much? That this failing crumbling state should provide electricity for it’s citizens in the 21st century, moreso in a state-of-emergency such as this? WTF!

The ineffectual buffoon and Buhari shouldn't be leading anyone. Some mor.ons call GEJ their hero. SMH. While some think Buhari is the messiah(Fr. Mbaka included). But then, this is Nigeria. They sure know how to pick their "rulers".

Hold Discos accountable, corrupt Nigerians like you are working there inflating bills in other to meet targets. Get the Senator representing your community to raise a bill against them so that if successfully passed in the house, we can get the government to change them.

The DISCOs have failed to meet key performance targets for years now, yet the government through it’s regulatory body NERC continues to tolerate them. Do you think if the electricity sector is genuinely liberalized and restructured, Nigerians would be stuck with this set of DISCOs? Of what use is a National Grid that allows so much wastage (from generation -transmisson - distribution) and cannot be efficient with the very little it is able to generate? Governance has failed in Nigeria!

Nigeria is like a man that has many children but very limited resource to carter for them. Make we multiple dey go, giant of Africa.
Shatap der. You paid propagandist. If they can't cater with govt resources, what of the ones donated by fellow nigerians? cant they use it to support all Nigerians. These useeless govt have access to the BVN data bank and can disburse stipends(cash).
Mind you, the cash donated so far, can go all nigerian in the sum of 10k atleast.
Stop supporting bad thing.
Nigeria before covid-19 was tensed already and filled with ethno-political tensions already. No job, nothing is working. And now you are forcing people to stay at home (I agree its the right thing) but with hungry? And they are seeing donations that are not getting to them. And you expect this covid-19 not to be the long awaited anger in this inevitable revolution?
Do you wonder why guys will be so bold on attacking and killing a soldier in warri? (condemn) because the land is filled with so much anger. And if this foools in abuja think this will not escalate they have another thing coming.
