deleson: A lot of things come into play especially from a Nigeria user perspective How u drive Urs and so many other maintenance factors Coz the same Accord disturbing you is not disturbing someone else But u definitely know they came out of the same Factory So what's causing the difference? Users Previous Users (especially when u buy a Naija used) Most people repair stuffs instead of fixing it ND complicate other things and this happens to Toyotas and other Cars also I mean I've driven Accord that I rarely opened the bonnets in weeks Everytime just drive mainly ND when u check Everytime it's always intact no need for water ND so on So how u use Urs or who used Urs before u bought Urs is what determines whether urs will be wahalacious or not ND that's SAME FOR TOYOTA BENZ AND EVERY OTHER BRAND NOT ACCORD ONLY there is nothing special in Accord it's same like other Cars 8 Likes |

Dpiano: This thing happened to me. In my case, a thief tried his luck with a master key of sort or screwdriver. He was unsuccessful but ended up messing the key cylinder. My key didn't enter too. I was able to get into the car through the trunk since the trunk has a key hole. |

deleson:Do you know Honda Accord is the best selling Honda brand and most common on the road? If yes, how then would you expect the civic or city with fewer users to be most reported? It’s simple logic. 4 Likes |

adanny01: Good evening ,I just got an accord, imran a scan and found this code in its memory. Mine revs past 3000 rpm but when you accelerate hard you feel something is missing the car drives well but I think it can be better I've wiped the code now and I haven't been able to really drive it due to lockdown. I also have the fault code P0341. Please any advice or assistance you can offer me will be greatly appreciated.i was already contemplating cleaning the spool you mentioned as I've read it else where ,I I went to autonedics and also worked at a mechanic garage for a couple of years so I tend to fix all issues myself. Also car has been in the country for less than a year but the person I got it from has started using mineral oil. I want to know if I can switch back to synthetic oil . |

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by adanny01(m): 7:56am On Apr 03, 2020 |
SpeedRacer: Yes a P0341 would cause loss of power so you are not getting full power. Honda will usually go into limp mode (3000rpm) for critical fault codes and will cause loss of power for non critical faults. Codes like P0420 will not cause anything. Your current fault code relates to the intake Cam shaft. Its either the timing has jumped (unlikely) or the chain has a slack or the sensor or its wiring is bad. You can start by checking connector plug of the sensor and its wiring. Remove the plug and refit it. Clear the code and if it returns then check timing by setting the top dead center and also checking the chain for slack. If all correct then find a replacement sensor. Since you are on mineral oil now, if there is no shortage, you can try the synthetic. If there is shortage or leakage, you then revert but if non, you can continue. |

otabuko: The issue with so many Honda steering racks is a simple one but the solution most mechanics are either not aware or incapable of dealing with it. The leakage is because most of the seals are bad but these seals should be available but no, you won't find them on the shelves of our spare part dealers for reasons i dont know. AliExpress has it if you can get a reliable mechanic to do the job. 1 Share

adanny01: Thanks a lot for your help ,forgot to mention I have P2649 also yesterday, so started this morning by removing the vtc spool I will attach a picture below. Item looks very neat , I will monitor the oil for loss so far there aren't any leaks As I'm replying I'm yet to couple back but all connectors look ok from visual checks ,maybe I will just seek professional help .car isn't in limp mode but somehow o feel the acceleration should be faster. I also have rattle on start up and I know what needs to be done there, most likely when lockdown is over I will resolve all issues .

GAZZUZZ: Good evening once again .I just got the 09 accord It's been less than 6 months in Nigeira Firstly owner has used 20w-50 , I'm thinking of using Carol magnetic 5w30 Secondly I think catalyst was removed because exhaust sounds loud especially on start up from.cold and a look underneath shows work has been done, thirdly if feel vehicle isn't as sharp as it's supposed to be maybe that's why catalyst was removed ,but since I cleaned Vtec spool I feel theres an improvement with movement ,lastly the car throws P0341 on start up and theres rattle. Going through your quite above I will be needing professional help as this is a car I plan to use for a couple of years and an engine replacement is not an option |

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by cdoffx(m): 8:35pm On Apr 05, 2020 |
GAZZUZZ: This happened to my car late February, I noticed while on the express that the car is losing power and getting sluggish especially while going uphill and then temperature start rising. When I got back to my base I told mechanic to check and he said everything is ok that maybe it's cos of the hot weather that causes the temperature rise which then result to losing power. I travelled again and this time it's getting worse and I couldn't use AC at all as that quickly get the temperature high. Took it to a mechanic village where the rewire said maybe fuel pump isn't supplying well and that's why the car is sluggish and that we should buy another fuel pump that the airflow is also very dirty(truly it is) but I insist let us scan the car. Last last it's broken and blocked catalytic converter. After they cleared it my car is back to normal. It's only left for me to get a new catalyst and aside a little wider exhaust noise I don't think I noticed any increased fuel consumption. I use 5w30 mobile super semi synthetic.. what do you say about the oil. |

My mechanic suggested pouring engine flush into the engine a day before oil change. I intend changing the oil this Friday. I need help here guys. Advice me please. Thanks in anticipation. |
