Cyriel Dessers ready to dump Heracles, targets Europe’s top five leagues

Heracles Almelo forward Cyriel Dessers hopes to play in one of the top five leagues in Europe, but has not rule out joining a big club in Belgium.

Dessers has enjoyed a superb campaign with Heracles with 18 goals and six assists in 29 games across all competitions.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a number of European clubs as well as Belgian sides Anderlecht and Genk.

Dessers admitted that he is keen to play for a top club in Europe, but is also open to returning to Belgium where he started his career.

”If a Belgian top club knocks, then I am certainly open to it. I have had a good season and I also want to realize my childhood dream: playing in a top-five league in Europe,” Dessers told Sporza.

"But if a Belgian top club registers, I would definitely listen”.

The forward has two years left on his current contract with Heracles.

Dessers is eligible to play for Nigeria and was part of the Super Eagles squad scheduled to take on Sierra Leone in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game last month before the match was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Okocha was an entertainer in an era that was not only result driven but also pro football artistry. An era that also puts emphasis on the best entertaining team. Football was more exciting in that era than now.
In Nigeria, people wanted to see Okocha play just for his skills. The love for
Okocha was crazy.
In Mikel’s time it was more about the science of the game. Mikel did not match Okocha’s following in the national scene. Having said that, both players are legends in their own right. Kanu had a very successful club career and his heroics at the Olympics will never be forgotten.
Personally I rate Okocha highest because he did what he wanted to do against any player any day anytime even when they knew his intention. He scored crazy goals although his conversion rate was average at best. He is an untouchable talent. Okocha May not have played for big teams but he always left behind unforgettable memories in every league he went. Kanu was a bundle of class. Mikel is the hero of his era.

safarigirl:
Guys, there's an argument going on on Twitter about Nigerian legends

The players in contention are JJOkocha, Kanu Nwankwo and Mikel Obi. Some are arguing that Mikel doesn't belong on the list, claiming JJ carried the team's he plays for and deserves better than to be named alongside Mikel.

Y'all know how I feel about Mikel, so, for the sake of neutrality, do you guys agree with this notion?

Okocha's end product isn't really as poor as some people like to make it look...
He still managed to score over 100 career goals in over 500 appearances as an attacking midfielder...
I believe he would have achieved much more if he was more serious on the pitch..

Which is why I said conversion rate. He made
So many attempts at goal. And you are right he saw football more as fun. He really loved the game.

IMO, Okocha has more impact with the teams he played for than Mikel...
Mikel wasn't as consistent as Okocha..

In national team colours,we clearly know who was more indispensable..

But like u said, both players are legends in their own ways...

I like the fact that you know he wasn’t serious on the pitch ,maybe that’s why big clubs didn’t go for him

And concerning his goals ,I won’t even criticize him with goals ,the Iniesta of this world didn’t even score much

Italian Serie A club Lazio are looking to strengthen their attack next season by signing Heerenveen dazzler Chidera Ejuke, according to today's print edition of Rome based sports daily Corriere dello Sport.

This is not the first time the Biancocelesti have been linked with a move for the former Liverpool trialist as they attempted to sign him without success before his move to the Netherlands last summer.

It is thought that Ejuke's proposed move to Lazio would hinder the progress of another Nigerian-born winger in Bobby Adekanye, who signed a first team contract with the capital outfit last summer and has played seven games for their first team.

Officially the top dribbler in the Eredivisie, Ejuke has cited two of the top wingers in the world in the shape of Neymar and Eden Hazard as his role models.

The 22-year-old is valued in the region of five million euros by transfer market experts but that fee could rise considering his consistent performances since the beginning of the season.

The former Valerenga man has scored 10 goals in all competitions and has notched six assists.

JayJay may not have played for big teams but how did he fare when he played against them? If you talking achievement Mikel wins. Talent-wise, wise, Mikel should not be mentioned where JJ dey.

andrewbaba44:

Everyone knows jay jay is good

Abeg Comot testimonial game for here bros

So now you want us to rate jay jay performance at the Turkish league ,when almost all of you here speak badly of the Turkish league apart from me and few others ,wonders shall never end ,suddenly you want us to look at jay jay performance there (and yes he wasn’t bad there ) you guys should try and practice what you preach

I am not comparing jay jay to Mikel as Mikel is a defensive player and jay jay is not so there are 2 different players

But I am saying jay jay didn’t achieve any meaningful thing ,some Nigerians are refusing to accept that

Jay jay never even played at the big stage obi played ,maybe he is unlucky or bad advisors according to someone here

Instead of some of you to accept ,the other guy was here speaking down of Mikel saying he is a squad player ,someone that started more than 150 epl games in 249 appearance

Make I end here
