Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a city in china has been forced to ban its resident from eating pet animals such as frog, turtle, snake, dog and cat.



Yesterday, April 1st 2020, the legislation was passed by lawmakers in Shenzhue, a city of about 13.5 million people and it will take effect on May 1st 2020.

In recent years, animal activists have demanded Chinese government to forbid the consumption of pets and the new law is the first of its kind in the country.

This new development comes after China banned all trade and consumption of wild animals. Scientist believes eating wild animal is responsible for the deadly virus infecting and killing people worldwide.

According to source, the new law was describe as a universal civilization requirement for a modern society and the aim is to satisfy the peoples daily needs.


Before the lawmakers passed the law, a spokes-person said the authorities wanted to make it easy for the general public to know what animal can be eating. Pigs, sheep, cow, donkey, chickens, rabbits, geese, ducks and pigeons are the nine livestock's suitable for eating.
