President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Military to flush out bandits from the forests around the country.

Speaking through his spokesperson Garba Shehu, he commiserated with the families and Governments of Plateau and Sokoto States, promising an end to such barbaric acts.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Nigerian Army to join the Police and flush out bandits from forests around the country, particularly in the areas that witnessed recent attacks.

The President gave the directive in response to the killing of 22 people in Sokoto State, whose community was attacked by armed bandits as well as the reported killing of 10 others in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

In a quick response, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai has already got in touch with the General Officers Commanding the army formations in the affected states, directing them to reinforce the police efforts to track the bandits and bring them to justice.

President Buhari also commiserated with the governments and people of the two states, assuring Governors Aminu Tambuwal and Simon Lalong of the federal government’s support in bringing an end to the spate of attacks in the regions.

He prayed that Allah would comfort those who lost beloved family members and friends in the attacks.

Imagined a government that came with the promise of fixing security talking as if it's now they are aware of the banditry, armed robbery and herdsmen attack going in the country. Last year alone over 2000 people were killed in zamfara and plateau state along. In plateau state, we know and the army formation in barkin ladi know were the terrorist,herdsmen (unknown gunmen),armed robbers, land grabbers, bandits or whatever they are called. Dafo,tanti,kura,and surrounding villages are still under sieges by these heartless and soulless beast and shehu is talking as if,it's something new? People were killed in mangu LGC in three separate attacks all in plateau state! In fact, do we even have air force? Is it allowed for government to bomb bandits from their hideouts? It's time to end this nonsense or we will be left with no option but to buy weapons to protect ourselves and our people and Dame the consequences. Plateau,katsina,yobe,benue,kogi,borno and zamfara state have been in the news for the wrong reasons and it's time to change the narrative.
