Don't get it twisted- nurses are like diamond everywhere and I think N140,000 is way too small for them considering what they do. I just don't think asking for a raise in reference to doctors' pay is necessary. Let them negotiate based on what they do undecided

well since na almost same process, meaning the knowledge is almost dsame.

Some people created the unhealthy rivalry, because they are always in charge calling the shots from ministry level to every unit of health administration in Nigeria. Nurses education in Nigeria today has also made universities in the West to drain us. People in authorities understand what I am talking about. Everything is done to keep others psychologically down and those who can't take it leave. But that is not in the interest of Nigerians.

However, it should be noted that doctors are always paid higher than other health workers. So, I believe nurses in Nigeria should not expect to be paid equally. I don't think they do. But when nurses negotiate and wish to get #250,000, for instance, while doctors would get #450,000, the latter would riot. Why? I don't know. This has always been one of the reasons for strike actions in the health sector. Those in charge of affairs have demonstrated they are incapable of resolving it in the interest of Nigerians.

In the UK here, doctors are paid higher and it is not an issue. The same applies in other sane climes. But what is the problem with Nigeria? Why can't we do things right. No wonder there is no development.

The two courses are not the same, have you thought of 2nd mb and all that? Fail and fail out?
Medicine is not easy, I know of two of my friends that failed and ended up doing radiography and medical lab science.
Doctors are life savers!!!
