Salatavor: Nigeria is not ready to end this war. I have been in Borno now for over three years and visited almost all local governments in Borno. I have MRT several soldiers and we always discuss on this war. Every soldier believes it is a political war for the elites to cash out. 12 Likes 1 Share |

SamuelAnyawu:they look careless cus they do not see the need to spend billions training men abroad, buying imaginary equipments to fight a local insurgency made up of hungry, untrained and already tired fighter. You want to see careless? Give the men and the necessary gears and watch me ride naked to sambisa. You think the BH war is a place to practice basic military doctrine 101? people are dying bro, men are dying there is no time to watch you polish your shoes and starch your uniforms. 6 Likes 1 Share |

SamuelAnyawu: There is no political will to end this insurgency and the soldiers know that. Hence the low morale. Supposing we are serious, we will invest more on reconnaissance platforms, detect pattern of movements of these insurgents, how they resupply, their cells, where they keep all those gun trucks and other vehicles seized from the military and then call in artillery strikes on anything suspicious. No matter how good the insurgents are in hiding, there will be things that will give their locations out. 10 Likes 1 Share |

We've not seen any action from Niger and Cameroon in months. It had to take the killing of over 90 chadians to get the chadians to go on the offensive. Is it that they are just aware of the Islands on lake chad that these terrorists use?. I'm sure this offensive will last 30 days at most and they are back to defensives. They will abandon the islands and the terrorists who are mostly on evasion right now will just move back in and rebuild with money they get from ransoming people they kidnap. I think it is high time FG criminalised the payment of ransome sef. It will be hard on a lot of people but kidnappings will eventually reduce when the criminals know they won't get anything from it. |

Just ask any Soldier about this 4 LGAs in Borno North senatorial zone (Abadam, Marte, Guzamala, Kukawa). If the Nigeria Military lays a perfect siege on these 4 Local Governments it will definitely be a Good Night to ISWAP. Buhari withdrew $1billion from excess crude account last year to purchase weapons, months after, nothing to show for. Not even rumours of procurement deals. We've been hearing about weapons they've purchased and waiting to be delivered since 2014, only the russians have delivered. I don't know how hard it is to use drone for aerial reconnaissance of the route they want to patrol before they go on the patrol. I can't remember the last time we saw the wing loong drones in combat. Even our own locally produced drones. I don't know how hard it will be to close our borders around the lake chad region and then treat every vehicle crossing the border as a threat. The banning of sale of petrol 15km to the bother should be enforced at this particular border region and even extend it to 25km. Anyone buying petrol with more than one jerrican is a suspected terrorist. This should be done in coordination with the countries bodering us. If we deny them fuel to power their gun trucks and enough food, attacks will reduce. How on earth are they even maintaining these gun trucks a d buying spares. Or they don't break down at all. The rate at which our troops get ambushed shows there are traitors within their ranks. What pains me most is the fact that civilians call these men dying all sort of names from cowards to useless idiots and so on when it is actually their politicians that are failing them. Some even get happy when they see headlines about how so many soldiers died in ambush all so that they can riddicule the military and the government. This rant is dedicated to late Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Every politician in the North east is a likely sponsor of bokoharam. I wonder what our intelligence agencies have used the BVN policy for. What have they achieved with it. I'm sure there is presently no account in this Nigeria that isn't linked to a BVN. DSS will be tracing and arresting people who insults and threaten the government and nothing about boko haram sponsors. Toju200:You remember when they were taking over our military bases around 2014? The quantity of small arms they carted away is numerous. Countries financing the two factions in libya, both middle eastern a western countries, most of the weapons they provide them eventually find their way to Nigeria through Niger. We need a five years continous offensive to reduce this insurgency drastically. Untill we start identifying those profiting from this insurgency, it will never be over. I know of at least two times now that federal government has promised they will release the list of boko haram sponsors. Still nothing to show. We don't even need them to release any list, they should start killing those people silently. 3 Likes |

PERSONNEL WELFARE: NAF PROVIDES ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION FOR AIRMEN IN KAINJI As part of efforts aimed at enhancing the welfare of personnel for effective service delivery, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 3 April 2020, commissioned 3 newly remodelled and renovated blocks of 10 x single-bedroom flats for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) at the 407 Air Combat Training Group (407 ACTG), Kainji. The project, which was executed through direct labour by the NAF Directorate of Works, is expected to cater for the housing needs of at least 30 personnel and their families, thereby reducing accommodation deficiencies on NAF Base, Kainji. The provision of more decent accommodation for personnel at the NAF Base in Kainji is in line with the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar’s, drive to ensure that the welfare of all NAF personnel is accorded priority attention. Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the CAS, represented by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Training Command (ATC), Air Vice Marshal Musa Mukhtar, disclosed that the Base was being re-positioned to effectively support the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft when it eventually arrives in Nigeria. According to him, the robust infrastructural development currently being undertaken in the Base would offer the personnel better living and working conditions as well as provide the requisite support infrastructure for effective and efficient operations of the Super Tucano. Air Marshal Abubakar, while urging the beneficiaries to ensure that the new accommodations are responsibly utilised, seized the opportunity to express his profound appreciation to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, for his continued support to the NAF, assuring that the Service would continue to discharge its constitutional roles effectively to ensure the security of Nigeria and Nigerians. Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 407 ACTG, Squadron Leader Kingsley Igwegbe, thanked the CAS for the numerous welfare projects executed in the Unit. He noted that this would undoubtedly boost the morale of the personnel and spur them towards the effective accomplishment of the Unit's tasks of training combat pilots and participating in various combat air operations across the Country. Also present at the brief ceremony was the NAF Director of Works, Air Commodore Abiola Amodu. It would be recalled that, about two weeks ago, the CAS was in Kainji to commission a newly-reactivated Alpha Jet (NAF 455) as well as a new Technicians' Crew Room Building and a 2.8Km road network on the Base. SamuelAnyawu:wetin I no still understand about this Nigerian military is how they are very gallant and ruthless against Nigerian civilians. Who saw the YouTube video of a Ghanaian soldier flogging a guy during this corona lock down cause the guy was outside, the guy slapped the soldier and fled, the soldier almost shot him but he didn't(only god knows what will happen when he get him ). If is a Nigerian soldier, I will bet all my money on it that he would have shot the guy just look at the warrri case for example. A Nigerian soldier shot an unarmed civilian dead, the people almost lynched him to death(yea, he didn't die), the rest of the squad fled. Nigerian soldiers are very gallant, very dangerous and more brutal than the Mongolian soldiers that swept through some part of Asia and Europe when ever they are facing unarmed civilians. But, this same soldiers are as gentle as doves when they are to face ISWAP, Boko haram, Fulani armed herdsmen or Armed bandits. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Please who remebers the weapons shipment from pakistan to Nigeria that was seized in saudi Arabia around 2014..... I have been trying to look for links about it but nothing yet. Does anyone have any link to it. US and france have drone bases all around us, yet never for once have they attempted to strike bokoharam. There are msny instances where they prevented countries from selling weapons to us because of "human rights abuse". Yet saudi Arabia is their biggest arms importer. 2 Likes |

If the Federal government is not serious and motivated to win this war then the USA will also know. Why did the USA build a drone base in Niger and not Nigeria |

komekn:The only help they've provided to us against bokoharam apart from some irrelevant training is donating 24 used MRAPs to us. They openly blocked most of our weapons deal. The aircraft they are selling to us at incredibly inflated prices wont be delivered until 2024. How many years does it take to build just 12 super tucanos? They tried building a base in Nigeria, they weren't allowed. Or do you think US wouldn't have attempted to build a base in one of the most strategically important countries in Africa? 3 Likes |
