Open Letter To Gov Seyi Makinde series II by Hilariousfacto: 4:10pm On Apr 05, 2020
Dear Gov Sheyi Makinde, I hope you are in good health as we pray for you to fully recover soonest.

Listening to Edmund Obilo on State Affairs last saturday further strengthen my assertions that governance in Oyo state might just be "Soja-go-soja-come. A system of government which leaves no legacy after expiration. I strongly believe this government is based on 3 things which if sustained, you can even win a third term viz;
1.Respect the electorates
2.Pay salaries
3.Free education.
Are we really getting valuable education?
However I strongly believe there is more to governance that just cajoling the electorates and winning the hearts of the populace. We need giant strides Mr Governor.
You hit the ground running only to start crawling. I envy the Lagos state government's swift response to this COVID19 pandemic... There were proactive measures and contingency plan on ground even before a single case was recorded in Nigeria. I rushed out of Lagos state owing to your directive of interstate suspension, only to find out that you were joking.

You have to create a balance between what citizens consider to be of value and what is really of value in terms of governance. This is a significant distinction because what the people consider to be valuable may just be a perception of the short-term “stomach infrastructure” while the government must always think in terms of what will yield medium- and long-term institutional value to create distinctive good governance template that goes beyond the trivial achievements.

A case study is Gov Obaseki's Edo-BEST initiatives
Aimed at transforming the basic education sector,The teachers were trianed and equiped with Tablets and ICT gadgets, so by the time he will be completing his first tenure, the fist set of EDO-BEST students will be in SSS-ONE.The project recently earned the governor a national honour by the Nigeria union of Teachers (NUT). The feat has attracted the international community as the governments of Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania have sent representatives at different times to Edo State to understudy the Edo-BEST initiative. Just recently, Lagos State Government adopted the Edo State Basic Education mode.

I understand you are a performer. But I think it is better to be a reformer. As that will have better impact on the electorates.Don't be carried away in all these eulogies and public praises. I was passing by Edo Specialist Hospital in Benin few months ago and I was totally amazed, I don't care who did it, but I am sure if not for UCH, we have nothing to write home about in healthcare. Can't we have a state owned five star specialist hospital in oyo state? I urge you to listen to Edmund Oblio's recent tragic experience while on admission at UCH before things were magically fixed because of his personality. Why do you think Abba Kyari ran to Lagos for treatment
More so, one of your aides said on state-Affairs (splashfm) last Saturday that your government just came on board. How long will that be an excuse. She could not specifically relate visible achievement to your administration. She was just busy eulogising and praising you as usual. Well, maybe we can just conclude that you have done wonderfully well already.

The first condition that makes for a successful reformer is courage. It requires administrative and political courage. It demands that the reformer must be willing to commit class suicide by visioneering on behalf of the citizens as it is obtainable in Edo.

Even though I might sound like an antagonist, sincerely I am very passionate about your success in particular and Oyo state in general. I really wish we can have an Oyo state that can compete as the best in Nigeria while we strive to be the best in South West.

Please initiate legacy project that keeps Makinde forever in the minds of those whose lives have been empowered to live the good life. Remember, tenure expires but legacy lives on.

Oyo state government has commenced the provision of free internet services to the students of the state.

The Hon. Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye, making the disclosure today in Ibadan, declared that the Ministry of Education had secured the partnership of AIRTEL Nigeria Limited to provide free internet services to Oyo State Students to access the Educational materials already uploaded on to Ministry website, www.oysgedu.ng.

According to the Commissioner, each student will have free internet up to 500MB per day courtesy of Airtel Nigeria throughout the period of the lockdown. The Commissioner advised the students to make good use of this gesture.

You launched this moniker to defend Mskinde since September last year, So you are always jumping on every Makinde related threads to insult those against him. .

Instead of you to address the op's point you started attacking the op as if you are the only one entitled to an opinion on how Oyo state should function.

However, I have news for you, tell your boss to do the right thing or expect the Ajimobi treatment in the next election.

A word is enough for the wise, the truth is gradually coming out.

unlike you who is a paid agent primed to insult people like a common market woman to defend your boss no matter what, my comments on Oyo are born out of pure frustration on the part of the government to develop the state as he promised during election campaign.

So Continue running your mouth, your last pay day is just around the corner.

Remember what happened to Adigun ibadan.

Just like Madam Sarumi that was on splashfm on Saturday... So all you could relate was an unsustainable internet plan that students have been enjoying in Anambra state since 2013. Oga we are talking of long term legacy... Outside the three things I listed above...can you precisely tell us more...for you to even mention Lagos shows how narrow minded you are, do you realise what it will take Oyo state to come near Lagos in terms of ranking even if Lagos was to remain stagnant for two decades... Let's bring it up by 2022...I pray you will be able to convince me logically, but right now...I can't join the bandwagon of praise singers....

since u want to compare ur Apc party who used 8 years without anything to write home about in the education sector GSM of 1year. Then go ahead with your comparison of obiano who is into his 2nd term.

In as much as I can understand how much you suffered during Ajimobi's tenure because of salaries... Let me state clearly that I've never been partisan..you Carry am for head like sey I dey abuse seyi Makinde...I know him personally and I detests under performance ...continue singing your praises while I put him in check...abi my write up dey affect your salary?
Point to note.. Peter Obi was Gov as at 2013,
Wait, can u sincerely send any of your kids to Oyo public schools? can you sincerly refer anyone to Ade Oyo hospital? That's what is happening in lagos and Edo state my broda...So what's the argument
