Calm down oga, i don't care what Nigeria put in her budget, funny how many Nigerians talk and talk, but how many Nigerians actually pay taxes?
Una want better military, but you think it's free? probably tens of thousands of small businesses in that country doesn't pay any tax, but you all sit down there dey look for a better Nigeria, i can assure you, that will never happen.
Even if Einstein is the President, development needs to be funded, entitlement benefits, social security, medicare, unemployment benefit, affordable housing for the poor, all that must be all funded, so without serious tax collection effort and database for all businesses, and i mean all, don't wait for any meaningful development.
Development ain't cheap.
Where i live , if you buy pencil you go pay tax, buy burger, fried chicken for restaurant, all that sh!t is taxed.
Now as to my questions, it was simply a generalized question
Answering question with a question lol, what's wrong with you grin grin
Soldiers have always died because some idiot politician sent them to war, how many US soldiers died in Iraq because Bush chose to invade the wrong country? Na today soldiers dey die for worthless cause?
I asked why leaders, not soldiers, aren't taking this matter serious enough, is it due to the location? Lack of economic importance of the region, the lack of wealth etc. That ain't a hard question, i never said soldiers should be dying in the North, lord have mercy.

Was expecting that comment to spark a conversation.
not sarcasm, because I'm still of a mind that, had this BH madness been happening in a place like lagos, they wouldn't be dealing with it with kid gloves, just a thought, i don't know for sure..... In other words, what does everyone think
BabaOwen:
What's the importance of villages been destroyed?
What's the importance of people been chased out of their ancestral homes?
What's the importance of Nigerian civilians being killed because of their faith or the organization they work for?
Nigerian soldiers can keep dying in borno, so far it does not have any economic importance to the country, right?

Monies that should be spent on more important things are been spent on the military.

Hope you no go vex when buhari announce say millions of dollars have been budgeted for rebuilding the north east, imagine if this millions of dollars is channeled to BOI sad

Why did the UK go to war because of Falkland island?
Was any harm been done to the UK economy for them to go to war because of the Falkland island?

We are not losing. South-Africa spent 28 years in Angola fighting terrorists.

Syrian civil war has gone on for 9 years despite heavy Russian involvement.

Nigerian army suffered losses in an ambush to BHT, but we have successfully degraded BHT to carrying out hit and run in isolated areas.

That's hardly a victory
Don't say this, ever again. This is exactly what you people want, an avenue to loot money for years to come... Syria is fighting for how many years, is Nigeria Syria? do you think Syria will fight BHT for less than two months? Hit and run to kill 100 soldiers. You say you reduce somebody and the person became more deadly, no sir, please give us our old time BHT back.

Airforce Bombings remains the biggest scam in this war. ISWAP will attack several military base here in Borneo north knowing fully well there will be no Air support for the Nigerian Army.

Two days later, Jet fighters will Bomb several ISWAP logistics depot on Channel News grin.

I repeat why do jet fighters not arrive during attacks? Well like my security focal person once said. He told me of a story of an attack where the military called for Air support I think in "Arege" the Airforce commander said his boys should not respond let ISWAP teach the army a lesson grin. That Army too dey form gallant. I don't know how true.

If our Airforce platforms had shown up at every ISWAP attack 80% of them should have been under six feet as at now.

Abeg make I begin warm up for my scary Monguno to Maiduguri road trip. May the roads be free from ISWAP fighters. Amen

Syria is a good example. France is also a good example.

BHT is still kicking, yes, but they have been reduced to pockets.

There are no more rampant bombings, they are no more frequent attacks in urban areas like Maiduguri, damaturu and mubi.

100 Nigerian soldiers did not die. Stop inflating figures. It is utter dishonesty to do that.

47 Nigerian soldiers died in an ambush in a war zone, regrettable, but we must understand that these things happen in war zones.

What is the army's reaction, what precautionary steps have been taken to avoid this sort of incident from happening again, this is the focus.

The old BHT is dead, the Nigerian army made sure of this.

France is a major power and a former colonial master of 11 out of 15 West-African countries.

France has military bases housing fighter jets, drones and Naval assets in Chad, Niger, Cameron, Mali, Ivory Coast, CAR, and can use military bases in Benin and Senegal.

The French army currently has 4,500 soldiers deployed in Mali, supported by 60 aircrafts ( fighter planes, transport planes, helicopters and Drones).

France has been fighting terrorism in Mali for 7 years.

The US military has the world's largest forward force projection ever recorded in human history.

It doesn't matter where the war is. The US has never been attacked. In WWII, The American war machine turned the tide against the Nazism in Europe.

Nigerian army would defeat this terror.

Nigerian politicians are corrupt and clueless, on the long run, what's happening in the North east will affect Nigeria. Armed bandits invaded and killed some people in some villages in sokoto 2 weeks ago, more than 20 people were killed, same 2 weeks ago, bandits attacked some villages in pleateu state. Is not as if the FG don't care about this states, they want this attacks to stop, but they are clueless

Cultists and touts do wreck havoc on the street of Lagos. What have the Lagos state government done about it?

Nigerians also pay tax on goods we purchase, is called VAT. Is not as if we don't pay tax, is not just as high as some other countries. Nigerians pay money for power supply we don't see. For the past 9 days, all the light I don see combine no fit enter 5hrs, yet we pay thousands of naira per month.

The Nigerien and Cameroonian forces
have joined Nigerian troops to route Boko Haram terrorists as part of the renewed offensive by the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to ride them from the Lake Chad Island hideouts in the North East Nigeria.

This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the Chief Military Public Information of MNJTF, Col. Timothy Antigha, stating that the combined troops killed more 19 terrorists, days after the Chadian forces inflicted heavy casualties on the insurgents.

As part of the ongoing counterinsurgency operations of the MNJTF under the reviewed Concept of Operation of Operation Yancin Tafki, Antigha said, combined forces from Sector 3 (Nigeria) and Sector 4 (Niger Republic), supported by Air Task Force (Nigeria) and Niger Republic Air Force conducted extensive bombardment of Boko Haram enclaves in the Tumbums earlier today, 6 April, 2020.

He said that Monday’s engagement was a coordinated air and ground operation.

“After intensive fire fight, 19 Boko Haram terrorists were neutralised, while others fled. The combined force with the support of the Air Force destroyed two Gun Trucks and captured two more. Four motor cycles as well as arms and ammunition were also recovered,” he stated.

He said that the troops of the MNJTF did not sustain any casualty, adding that the effort is expected to further degrade and deplete Boko Haram, thereby consolidating on the successes of previous synchronized operations conducted within the MNJTF area of operation.

In the same vein, MNJTF Spokesperson said that the Sector 1 (Cameroon) has also conducted clearance operations in the southern parts of Lake Chad Basin in order to destroy fleeing Boko Haram Terrorists who are now being confronted in all axis. Earlier last week, Sector 2 (Chad) also conducted an amphibious operation and secured the Litri / Madayi axis.

He recalled that the mandate of the MNJTF allows troops of the Task Force to conduct operations within 25 kilometres of delineated area of operation in Troop Contributing Countries.

To this end, Antigha assured that the MNJTF, with the support of national forces will continue to pursue Boko Haram Terrorists until they flee from the Lake Chad Basin or face justice.

He further assured the populations of the Lake Chad Basin that every effort is being made to restore security and normalcy

Nigeria gave them that opportunity. Do you know that here in Northern Borno we feel relaxed seeing Chadians in our environment that Nigeria soldiers?

When Chadians left Borno last year, Most NGOs started planning on evacuation.

Our top military men have killed the morale of the boys in the trench....

Lemme give you a little scenario I witnessed on Monguno- Maiduguri road last year.

We met a Nigeria military convoy from Maiduguri-Monguno. Then the Military got to a deadly place called "Ali Gambari" where ISWAP once ambushed some soldiers that was all over the internet. The Military sighted movement and started firing heavily into the Bushes for 30minutes. I almost got deaf that day because of the AA Firepower.

The Chadians were coming from Nganzai and met the scenario, lots of civilian cars parked at the road just listening to gun music. Even some passengers were saying the Military will not allow us to pass so that them fit use some of us as shield grin

The Chadian commander discussed with the Nigerian commander leading the convoy. What happened next?

The Chadian Commander ordered his convoy to drive into the bushes. Baba na so the whole civilians in public vehicles begin praise the Chadians, I did not praise them just to look patroitic after all I attended a Military secondary school.

The Chadian soldiers were so happy driving into the bush to look for any ISWAP bastards. If you see the joy and morale on the Chadian soldiers faces. The last soldier even screamed in a scrappy English " Let's Go, Let's Go" there is an Arab word they love using "Allah Ya tsere" That day I respected the Land cruiser cars over Hilux.

Later bro its 10am. Let me start my Monguno-Maiduguri trip. Easter is here grin

No, even before the US formally entered the war they had imposed incredibly harsh sanctions on Japan. The US cut off oil supplies to Japan.

Hawaii is not US main land.
In 1942 a Japanese submarine slinked into a channel near Ellwood Oil Field, a large oil well and storage facility outside of Santa Barbara. The submarine lobbed 16 shells at Ellwood Beach from its deck gun, it fled into the open ocean after that.

Another attack on a mainland American military site during World War II occurred on June 21, 1942, on the Oregon coastline. A Japanese submarine I-25, it trailed some US fishing boat to bypass minefields made its way to the mouth of the Columbia River. It surfaced near Fort Stevens, an antiquated Army base that dated back to the Civil War. It used its 140-millimeter deck gun to fire 17 shells at the fort... Though they don't really have an effect on the war, but the US mainland was attacked.

Look at US army personnel inspecting a crater caused by the Japanese attack at fort Stevens.
