I reckon you are a mode here.

Please can you help with the antispam but stopping me from contributing in the sports threads?

If you ever get banned by the anti-spam bot, do the following:

1) Go to the top of the page of the section (for example, sports section https://www.nairaland.com/sports), click on "mail mods" and tell the mods that you've been wrongly banned by the anti-spam bot and they should release you. Don't forget to provide a link to the thread that you were posting on.

2) Wait for a minute after sending that mail, then go to the bottom of the home page and click on "mail supermods" and tell them that you were wrongly banned by the anti-spam bot.

No nudity, no seductive dancing, no foul language, and wonderfully tells a story. The music of this era is unbeatable.

I also think this is one of their best productions. I had to look away from Agneta's face because the hair and make up is so hauntingly nostalgic...

My oldman is a huge fun of ABBA that's how I knew them, I love all their songs, he has a lot of their albums. Their songs bring back childhood memories.

My folks are not really music people. It's just me. From childhood old music, old pictures old fashion, old movies and even old TV broadcasts have always held an unexplainable fascination for me, so when I grew up listening to ABBA on TV and radio i just knew I had to always keep them close by, whenever I can find their songs.

I don't understand. The Leaving On A Jet Plane that I know and still have on my phone is by John Denver. This one sounds like a song recorded in 700 B.C. Is John not the original owner? sad

John Denver wrote the song when he was a member of the group, Peter, Mary and John and it was a hit for the group. He later did a solo version when he left the group. Many people (including Liza Minelli) have covered the song. Sonia Spence's version is also a cover version.

Wow, thanks. So much history, I never knew John was in any group. Well, his version is just perfect and wayyy better.

Good thread. I learnt some stuffs here. Then music was performed not just for the monetary and fame aspects but passion... the need to touch positively on others feelings, emotions, et al. Music today is not like that of yesterday. Unfortunately, music enthusiasts would tomorrow say music of yesterday (our present/current era) is better than the present ( that is the future).

Cyndi Lauper was such a fun person. Seriously.

I can't listen to the Commodores without thinking of DBN television. The sweet, carefree days of childhood long gone

Same here, I had no idea the baby face fire track was a remake of an old school track..

One thing I know is that there is a constant recycling of old school tracks.
I remember kanye wests 2002/2003 through the wire was also a remake of Chaka khans through the fire..
And so many others..
We both would be surprise to discover more.

Ehen na now u come.. I know say u get music sense..

As for commodores, I usually mix them up the debarge, with that classic track Rhythm of the night.

Lionel Richie was part of the commodores before he went solo..
I remember night shift a tribute song to Jackie Wilson..
