The car is ok as long you have done a comprehensive diagnosis and body check of the car and no hidden issues. No need for a special mechanic as long it has a gasoline engine. A good auto technician will work on it

I laugh at people who think this job is easy. If I will be frank with intending investors;

"Please stop investing your money and cars on Uber or Bolt. Its a waste of time and resources because believe me, you won't recover your money. This business is now nonsense".

The insults, the risks, the traps, the dangers... Is it worth it?

They have finally turned this business to yeye. You will be on Fola Osibo and get a request on admiralty. You call to ask rider where she is going. Rider will say she is going to lick ice cream at the place on admiralty. Can you imagine? undecided undecided undecided

I have been driving all week and cant boast of solid 20k . Mind you that its my car.

If am being honest, I met a driver yesterday that still makes 70-100 k a week because I checked his account. But believe me when I say this guy is dying. Looking all dusty and alien. You can decipher immediately that his life span is being tempered with because his eyes are red and you can see weakness all over his body. He is almost looking like an animal. I can swear that this guy have not had a good sleep in months. How can somebody be on Uber 3% on monday already if not madness? Telling me he drives everyday from 5 am till 11 pm? undecided undecided undecided

As am even talking, all my body is paining me. If I will advise anyone reading this; THIS THING IS NOT A JOB. IT IS A SLOW KILLER. Find a way and get out of this thing before it harms you.

Just ask yourself one question as an Uber driver.

Ever since you started driving, can you boast of solid 1 million saved from Uber or Bolt work? You see what I mean?

Can you eventually build a house in Ikorodu or Ayobo doing Uber work? I dont even want to mention ordinary Anthony not to talk of Lekki or VGC.

Most drivers I know can barely feed, pay rent and feed at same time not to talk of building house.

If you don't know let me clear your eyes on the real people you are working for;

Fuel stations
Bolt or Uber
Mechanics

Uche will be in his office sitting down and counting money while shouting "lets move Lagos" Upandan as if he can move ordinary Ojota... Onye Mgbu... Ezigbo Ekperima.

It went viral. The world heard you

Mandilas dey service Tata cars? It's an Indian car and i see some of them despite being old still running.

I know most are manual transmission and I expect them to be quite rugged because India is very similar to Nigeria and this cars were built for undeveloped societies like ours.

Replacement parts will definitely be a challenge though. However I would say u should use it and see what u can make of it. Who knows,u could be the new TATA warrior as we have had Peugeot lions Honda hero and Toyota Vikings even Ford get him own soldiers for this forum grin

What is wrong with benz for this Job. Back I the days na regular full taxi business. Uber just make Toyota cost you can get a C class 05 almost half of what you would pay for a Corolla. Fuel consumption is not as what ppl think, maybe for the older models and caburator engines but from 2005 upward fuel economy is superb. Despite using a 3.2L 6cylinder 12plugs C class for this hustle fuel has never been my concern. I dey use like 3k fuel almost full day. And seeing riders jaw drop dey give me joy plus the way they behave to me dey just respect them self when they see Benz cos dem know say I nor be regular. cool

Even the parts are not expensive e full ladipo/trinity and alagunta for alimosho looking for who will patronize. One thing about these cars is if you change one thing just dont worry about it for the next 2 to 3years.

Since I bought my C class 4matic next month will make it one year na only front break pads 4k and rear right shocks 5k and auxiliary 30k I don replace for the moto.

How can I use almost 2.3m to buy this mass production cars called Corolla And then everybody go just know say na uber on seeing you pull over.

Places where I fit enter park them dey pursue Corolla users as they dont allow uber drivers to park I always see the drama and just laugh. Nigerians judge by what you own. Them go they cut cap for me saying boss anything for me? Not knowing say na hustle I dey. The one wey dey sweet me pass na airport work grin

In a nut shell many other cars are suitable for this hustle Peugeot 206 very light engine. Peugeot 406 fuel economy is fantastic. Make we free toyota small abeg Japan don chop belleful from Nigerians

Thanks for this post. I've been thinking of getting either a C class benz or BMW 3 Series for this biz. Corrola just full everywhere. And so far on the enquiries I've made, the fuel consumption is even better than most popular cars used for Uber business.

Still stuck at picking between the two tho. Suggestions are welcomed

I have a tiida. If you're coming from a Toyota you may consider the car slow to move.. ie an average Toyota will take less time to hit 60km/hr than the tiida (or maybe na my car lol). That's my observation about the speed.
boss, thank you sir for your timely response may God bless you,pls what are the issues you experience with your tiida, and how you maintain it, and would you choose it above a Honda city 2006

So I went to the island briefly today and decided to buy fuel at Mobil HDQtrs.
Like 3 cars in front of me they were using only one pump. From no where an attendant showed and said I should reverse my car out of the queue and come to another pump.
I obeyed, got to the pump and before I opened my door
Attend: he shouted full up or how much ?
Me: 4 thousand
Attend: okay it's from zero
(Me rushing to come out of car to see d meter before he started but couldn't see so I had to turn round to his side cos d place was tight.
As I peeped he just stopped d pump and said 1000. It was showing 1000 on meter.
Me: 1000 now now within 15sec wey I turn.
Attend: yes how much be 1000 na now now e no dey long. ( people in other cars laughed )
Me: but why u stop at 1 thousand, I said 4 thousand
Attend: sorry I thought u said 1 thousand
Me: I said 4 thousand
(He was reluctant to continue )
Me: come and continue now ?
Attend: okay I will add 3k to it to make it 4k
Me: yes go ahead but I will like to see your manager
Attend: manager no dey
Me: what of supervisor
Attend : e no dey too

If you want to go for a BMW, stick with any 4 cylinder engine and also avoid 4 wheel drive because maintenance is higher.
Another thing with 3 series is that it does not have enough leg room for those seated at the back.

those mobil guys are thieves as well as the other Mobil on airport rd. They'll pump 1k and stop.
Watch out for those Total attendants all of them across the Federation are thieves. Worst than mobile.

This is the trick they do.
If you tell them to sell u fuel of N3500 they will pump N500 then hang the nozzle.
You will say, I said N3500 why sold N500"
They'll say "Ha, oga/madam sorry I didnt hear u well"
They'll start selling from that initial N500 they sold before then stop at N3000. Unknowing to you they didn't rub off that initial N500 but They'll say the initial N500 makes it a total of N3500.
You pay them N3500 U go. They've succeeded in as scamming you N500.
Same tactics applies to N4000.

My first and 2nd experience was the total opposite Uniport gate, Ph.

3rd one was the Total along Mission rd, Benin city

Several others in Onisha, Owerri Owo and Lagos.

Those guys are thieves

My number 1 rule in gas station is never answer attendant question of how much until I come out of my car and see the pump display 0.0000 before saying anything

That's a good way to aviod being scammed by those thieves but pump will always have the displayed amount previously sold so until the nozzle is taken off and ready to repump then it's starts reading from 0:00

Of course, the city was for uber.it was bought from warri from shell company auction. Engine was very ok with chilling a/c,no issues but for the gear.

I wasn't too knowledgeable then about cvt transmissions. But I think u should change oil based on your usage.
Usually Honda City cars have this gear issues

no real issues with it. My bro had an 08 City which gave him too many problems, I'm guessing he bought a bad one so I can't really say City is a terrible car. I and my bro use tiida/versa now and it's an okay car. Maintenance wise, u will visit the mechanic more often than if u were using a corolla.
