That's what i was saying yesterday or at least close to it. If this hit close to home, like totally destroying our economy and major infrastructure and hitting those in power very closely, we would have seen a very different Nigerian Military, which is why i said we aren't serious about this, not because we don't have better capability than what is being shown SamuelAnyawu: |

SamuelAnyawu: Chei !!!! I am very confused. WAHALA deh ![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe you can explain. I was listening to General Adeniyi report, he said there were three Battalions at that point. That they had been out flanked by 8-10 gun trucks, that over 100 RPG's and Dame number of mortars had been shot at them. Three Battalions should equate to at least 1500 soldiers, There were three General at the front of the battle with three MRAP'S leading the assault or hiding in defence. How can 10 gun trucks hold 1500 men into a static position. The effective range of an RPG is about 300 metres at best. Anything over that and it's wildly inaccurate ( off target) All the three MRAP's will have HMG didn't see. optics so it will be steel sights. So trying to hit a small target first shot at 400 metres will not be easy. But hitting a gun truck in at 500/600 metres even with steel sights, considering the higher elevation of the MRAP's should be plausible particularly if they keep breaking cover all around you. Then foot soldiers dug into the ground should be able to engage. Yes those AK's don't have optics but they should still be able to hit the guys shooting the RPG's anytime they break cover to shoot. In addition we should have out own RPG'S to respond with. I would expect that within these three Battalions there should be at least 10 snipers not neccesarily with high calibre rounds. So how did they get so overwhelmed. It's not making sense to me. Something is very wrong and it's not just the lack of equipment. It's very puzzling. Compared to us Chad have literally a rag-tag army. They are using BMP1, they have no body armour. Don't have any MRAP's lots of gun trucks but nothing specail. What's going on❓❓❓❓ 2 Likes |

How many areas are the Chadians defending? You guys keep bringing up Chad over and over again. If BH /ISWAP is spread over a certain region of chad as they are in Nigeria, chad at this point would have France providing massive support for them, because they do not have the resources to even sustain such fight for 6 months, let alone years. So what Chad ( in my little opinion) has done is take the fight to the enemy in border areas of Nigeria, that's different from trying to defend so many positions, towns, cities and villages. If all Nigerian soldiers have to do on occasion is mass up and run up on BH without having to worry about anything else, then that would have been easier done as well. We are comparing two different things here. Chad isn't a stronghold for BH or ISWAP, sadly Nigeria allowed them to have that stronghold on our soil. Now switch Chad for Nigeria, and Chad would be in huge trouble, like i said, they won't even have what it takes to sustain the onslaught for 6 months, they don't have the resources for that. And where did you get this report? from the video or statement the man published? any link? I still think our soldiers seem to lack awareness, they tend to stroll about as if there are no enemies around. See the other day when troops were massacred, and a soldier said they were sleeping or some sh!t, and go caught unaware, now imagine that, you are in a war zone, no look nothing, and you are surprised you got caught unaware. Oh well, me, I'm not supporting the Govt, i only feel for these poor soldiers being led to slaughter by clueless leaders. We have a country where people are busy saluting and not trying to offend, so instead of having a frank discussion, they simple take whatever little they are given and go to war half-cocked . komekn: 1 Like |

komekn:Guy, I don't get this sniper thing especially with highly mobile enemies. High calibre anti materiel rifle on a highly fluid battlefield will do what exactly? Its possible our troops are battle weary and unrotated. Heck, I would now like to see the children of the most powerful Nigerians getting rotated into the theatre, maybe then we'll see some traction. As for those at the top, I think they've lost the initiative. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 8:46pm On Apr 07, 2020 |
I don't think it's about losing the initiative, they never had one to begin with, the conflict in the north is just a side thing to them, they don't take it as something major yet. In other words, lack of seriousness BlackBaron: 3 Likes |

ugo4u: SamuelAnyawu: komekn: 92 soldiers dead in a single attack is the highest tally for Chad, however we should also remember chad only started suffering Book Haram attacks in Chad in 2018. I added the 36 soldiers Chad also lost in Mali in a single attack. Where is the evidence that Chad has a better military, especially in dealing with Terrorism than Nigeria? It's shameful that their are Nigerians supporting Chad over the Nigerian military because of a few PR stunts. Chad: Boko Haram kills 23 soldiers in Dangdala attack https://www.thedefensepost.com/2019/03/22/boko-haram-dangdala-chad-raid-gueskerou-niger/ The same day the Chadian army announced that it lost 36 soldiers during the three-month intervention in northern Mali and suffered another 74 wounded. SamuelAnyawu: Then what do you want to say about the war in the Middle East waging for over 18years, will you say the United States and her allies are not ready or serious to end the war. After all they have well equipped and modern army. You people talk about fighting terrorism has if it’s a conventional war. Most of you guys here don’t have glimpse of what you’re saying. |

komekn:Listen to the video again, Gen Adeniyi said they were being pounded by 10-15 gun trucks from all flanks i.e at every turn like 10 gun trucks were waiting for them. As for snipers you don't just deploy snipers to an already chaotic situation/volatile area without good/concealed firing spot. |

The back and forth here is like a broken record. Anyway, nothing is going to change soon and I will implore you guys to hold your breaths for something tangible. Let's go back to the basics, the kind of recruits and cadets we churn out from depot and NDA, reorientate and give the best of education on modern warfare, tactics et al. And see the difference. No be by "good to go". And you guys seriously think the authorities are interested in what we write here. Tsssk. If you like write a thesis, as long as it's not showing the loopholes on how to embezzle, OYO. P. S Meanwhile, you guys shouldn't be too hard on each other. This place is just for fun. 6 Likes |
