billtommy: Good question Depends on what returns u want , where u are coming from , other streams of income available , what time frame you have etc For me It’s simple really from where I am coming from , deploying funds from fd , mmf , treasury bills , and with horizon of 9 to 12 month , I will still be going for some of the stocks you mentioned It wont be unreasonable to expect 15 to 25 % returns or more in that time frame , that’s much better than current fd , mmf and treasury rates for a year and also above inflation rate Do you proper diligence however , I for example won’t be moved in any away if things don’t go as expected in that time horizon with my invested fund 6 Likes |

onegentleguy: OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM CAVERTON GROUP... “At the start of the COVID-19 lockdown, we received a letter from our client stating that they have been given approval/ exemption to fly and continue operations. We (Caverton along with three other companies) also received approval from the Minister of Aviation to fly only essential services, mainly in the Oil and Gas industry”. “Lastly, we got another approval from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to fly for this same oil and gas sector. We have been flying along with these guidelines for the past seven days”. “Today, we were informed that the Governor of Rivers State, Mr Nyesom Wike was coming to address the operators in Port Harcourt and our people waited. But on arriving, the governor directed two of our pilots to be taken to CID where they were told to write statements". “Despite all pleas by our lawyers who showed all the relevant documents, they were taken to the magistrate court and charged. At the court, our lawyers also presented all the documentations approving us to fly by the federal government but the case was closed and the pilots have been remanded in Port Harcourt prison till the 19th May.” “We appeal to the federal government to urge the Rivers State government to release our pilots who violated no law and are being unduly punished for reasons we still do not understand.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/04/breaking-caverton-appeals-to-fg-to-prevail-on-wike-to-release-its-detained-pilots/ It was just as expected. Like I said before; this is a very minor matter. ...so there's absolutely NO need to fret. It will be sorted out. Selah cc: @DeRuggedProf 2 Likes |

Good day people, please I want to ask. Is Oando suspended from trading? If not, can there be possible turn around for them in the next one year in terms of capital appreciation so far they are not likely to pay dividend? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by PETERiCHY(m): 4:22am On Apr 08, 2020 |
PETERiCHY: WAPCO published Q4-19 and 2019FY audited financials this morning. The result showed that the company’s 2019FY EPS settled NGN7.15/share, up from a loss position in the previous year. The positive outturn was driven by the one-off gain from the sale of Lafarge South Africa Holdco. (LSAH) in Q3-19. WAPCO’s core earnings got a lift from the material decline in finance charges (-51.5% y/y) as the company reduced its total debt outstanding to NGN37.1 billion, from NGN288.9 billion in the prior year. Overall, the company returned to profit, as PBT settled at NGN17.89 billion, following two consecutive years of pre-tax losses. Also, PAT grew by 91.6% y/y. we expect investors’ reactions to remain positive in the near term. Our last communicated fair value estimate was NGN26.22/share. Our estimates are under review. https://investadvocate.com.ng/2020/04/06/wapco-returns-to-profitability-with-pat-growth-of-91-6-y-y/ BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE! 2 Likes

pluto09: The pilots will be kept in the prison for another 12 days, while the police is continuing with their investigations. And the magistrate granted their request without giving them the option of bail while the investigation is going. The judiciary in Rivers is something else, we know what happened between Kemi Olunloyo and a Popular in that same Rivers State 1 Like |

Market is paying handsomely. This is one of the reasons I leave cash in my trading account. What could I have done now if I didn't have money and some stocks to rebalance portfolio at this time. Those analog traders that always carry cash at hand will be looking for a way to credit their trading acct but no bank is working now. Believe me,noboby expected any bull at this time and few people are benefitting it now especially those of us always on this thread listening to Onifa 1 Like |
