Toju200: You read more from Military sourced news. Have you asked yourself why Air platforms dont support dont support during ISWAP attacks that lasts over 2hours with the boys in the trench? After 2 days the Air platforms will bombard a building as ISWAP logistics command . over 300 ISWAP members came to attack Nganzai LGA, There was a shootout for over 2hours. The Army withdrew after losing close to 20 Soldiers and some taken away. Two days later an Alpha jet claims to have bombarded the logisitcs support house of ISWAP that carried that attack in Nganzai. The Jets will never come to support during an attack But can go and video the bombings of a building showing us three ISWAP members running from bombardment. We are not Kids bro. The handwriting is on the wall. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Toju200: Toju won't you ever tire of blaming Obama for the inadequacies of the Nigerian army and airforce? Did Obama also stop us from buying stuff from China, South Africa, India, Russia and Egypt? Or Eastern Europe? Doesn't South Africa manufacture Super Hinds and even the Rooivak? The Tucano you are talking about, are there not equivalents we can get cheaper and sooner elsewhere? The weapons we use now, are most not from Russia and the Soviet Union, so why the sudden love for American weaponry? And as regards heavy lift helicopters, don't the Russians have the Mil Mi 26 Halo? What stopped us from buying these massive choppers as Algeria long since have? Or what stopped us from buying masses of Mil Mi 8 and 17s? What stopped us from buying platforms from other countries other than the US and massively upgrading the stuff we already have by giving them better avionics, engines, weapons and sensors? Kindly leave Obama out of this please and find someone else within Nigeria to blame. Your excuse is wack and weak and I am very tired of hearing shit like that. 9 Likes |

Sizzorkay: There is substance to what you are saying undoubtedly. Consider the bold, " That's like using shyness to eat poison" and agreeing to go on a suicide mission. Imagine how that destroys the moral of troops. However, l am not speaking in general but about one particular engagement and all that we know about that one particular engagement. That enables us to make have a specific understanding that may or may not be tenable in other engagement situation across the NE. Indeed it may be indicative of the tactical approach of the NA. I simply do not know. It's like I have seen videos of our bases been over run by Boko. From.the positions of our burned out gun trucks you can make an informed inference in general What happened in the battle. |

bidexiii: I don't think you answered his question. He asked if ISWAP was playing around in America's backyard would they last a day? Like what if ISWAP was going around Texas or New York killing people with rocket launchers and machine guns, would the government there do nothing? Frankly, I don't think if ISAWP did the kind of thing I'm talking about they would last a couple of hours in America. You and I know that, so please stop beating around the bush. There has always been terrorism in America and elsewhere. I still remember the Weathermen Underground and other domestic terrorist groups, the World Trade Center attacks during the early 90s, and the Oklahoma City Bombings of the same period. But you know one thing about America, they always find the people responsible for for domestic terrorism and punish them for it no matter how long it takes. So, while there are terrorist incidents now and then in America, the perps are always caught and punished. If not they are killed by drones. Now, does Nigeria do the same thing? The citizens being killed on the daily by ISWAP and co are their killers being caught and punished? Or are some killed and others rehabilitated and told to aspire to being presidents and senators? That is the core difference between a country like Nigeria and one like America. As for the War on Terror in the Middle East, that is a whole other thing. The war there is unwinnable because America has no clear goals and objectives and there's little support for the war at home. The same happened during the Vietnam war and the Soviet war in Afghanistan. If you are saying because America has not won the war in Afghanistan and the Middle East that means we can't win the war in the North against ISWAP and Boko Haram, then with all due respect you have no idea what you are talking about. As for Americans having easy access to weapons. Well, America is not the only country with easy access to weapons. Icelandic citizens also have easy access to weapons. How many of them are terrorists? Israeli citizens also have easy access to weapons. I have not heard of any that strapped on a suicide belt and blew themselves up. South Africa is flooded with weaponry, mostly from the Apartheid era. How many terrorism cases does it have? They mostly use their weapons to rob and kill each other. So, please easy access to weaponry does not necessarily mean any country is sitting on a time bomb. 3 Likes |

Toju200:Let me be fair with you. In your accessment just like you've listed the above gains by the Nigerian army, will you say with a straight face that after a decade of COIN, coupled with the expenditures since 2009 till date and the regrettable losses of our brave men and women in the NE that the Nigerian army has really tried? The amount of money budgeted and expended to fund this war should have brought the bokoharam insurgency to a debilitating end. I have close family and friends that lost their lives to this nonsense going on in the NE. When will it be enough? Truth is the top brass in the ministry of defence are prolonging this war just so they keep cashing out yet there's nothing tangible to show for it. Our weapons cache are not upgraded or updated, we still doing the same things we did since 2009. The Tchadians have one of the lowest army budgets in africa yet we see time and time again that when they go out to face these vermins they deliver. I have no regrets when i say the Tchadians are doing a good job. They're doing what every sane army in the world ought to do when faced with terror. 7 Likes 1 Share |

GabrielYulaw: Even if ISWAP Kills 10,000 of our soldiers due to the incompetence of our top military heads and federal government, we must console ourselves that the USA and Russia have not been able to decimate terrorist in the Middle East. Terrorism is here to stay and we should get used to it. Afterall, even if they continually kill our soldiers we go open recruitment in Army depot. Economy is bad and several youths are looking for jobs 9 Likes 1 Share |

BlackBaron: It's a battle proven tactic adopted by both British and US forces in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. When dealing with gun trucks and suicide vehicle. A 50 Cal. Sniper rifle is used to hit the engine block, if you hit it right ↪ first round knocks the engine, and brings the vehicle to a stop. You have other other options depending on the objective and types of rounds you have. An armour piercing round will bore a big hole in the engine one shot, an incendiary round in the cabin will take out the driver and passenger in the front and injure passengers in the back. So in NE Boko predominantly use pick up trucks mounted with HGM. Does that explain it for you. |

Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by komekn(m): 11:53am On Apr 08, 2020 |
bidexiii: The war is not on US and or European soil. So in many ways it's a proxy war, that's limited by multifaceted international political dynamics. The USA and NATO are serious about this war. However, the geographical political dynamics make thier end game result to be convoluted. Your question is a non question, it fails, because you can't equate a political answer to a military solution capability. 3 Likes |

Toju200: I made a tactical assessment and raised questions from those observations. All the questions relate to the specifics of that one engagement at that time. The use of existing assets and expected outcomes. In a nutshell, how did 10 rudimentary gun trucks hold down three Battalions of the Nigerian army ❓❓❓ With a IMO opinion projected 1500 troops. |

RussianKGB: With my head bowed in shame l have to drink the bitter leaf juice of the SAD TRUTH. With what you said. Can l add, we are in a desperate war our infrastructure and capacity is dire. We need assets like yesterday, here and very desperate NOW. Then someone decides to spend $600 million on 12 turbo props modified upgraded aircraft that will not arrive in completion until 2024. I don't like using vitriolic rhetoric and acidic abusive diction to get my point across. But l am tempted here. In order to describe this incomprehensible bewildering crass ineptitude. komekn: True. Geographical dynamics make the war unwinnable. No matter how many defeats the Taliban are handed, they can rest, recover and get more men and material from Pakistan and other countries. Or just buy weaponry from the corrupt and ineffectual Afghan government. The US is not going to invade Pakistan for this sort of thing, nor will it openly punish countries that support the Taliban as a way of weakening the Great Satan and ending its hegemony. That is the main reason this war is unwinnable and the same holds true for the Vietnam war and Soviet war in Afghanistan. Get all the Taliban in an open battlefield and let them face a Marine Division and let's see what happens Nothing will happen though, because the Americans will win. But the Taliban ideology is so attractive that they will get fresh recruits within days and more material to replace all their losses. And the war will continue. What some here can't understand is that some countries lend the Taliban their support because it keeps the US and NATO tied down and degrades their ability to wage conventional war. It also makes them expend money and resources they can barely afford. Just imagine the US using B-2s, B-1s and F-15s to bomb the Taliban. What do you think the flight time cost of these platforms are? If they can use these kind of weaponry to bomb some dirty dudes with AKs, are they going to use space ships to bomb the Russians when they flood through Europe on their way to eliminate NATO and rip Merkel a new one? But does the same geographical and political considerations hobbling the US and the NATO alliance hold true in the North East? I absolutely don't think so. 1 Like |
