This is why the south should come together and push for a sovereign state.

The oil from Niger Delta and VAT mainly from Lagos is used to develop the north. U assume that the south east contributes zero as many in south west would assert.

In the North, alcohol is prohibited. Yet they receive the largest share of VAT on alcohol consumed in the south.

Until the Yorubas and Igbos come together to question certain status quo, nothing will change.

Your point on the tax on alcohol has been a source of wonder to me over the years....
It is haram for them to drink or sell alcohol but not haram to share from the proceeds! In other words, we drink while they share the money

They are making judicious use of their revenue/allocation whatever you wish to call it.

What is Delta state's excuse?

This thread is not getting bombarded with traffic and noisemaking because it didn't happen in Rwanda.

Kudos to Kano state and Gov Ganduje.

Continue lamenting as if your states doesn't receive share of the national cake.

Rather than blaming the north, why don't you ask your governors first how they spent their allocations.

Some states receive more allocation than Kano yet nothing to show for it.

Regardless of VAT, many states in Nigeria are richer than Kano state and they still can not measure up, it's not about money, it's about leadership.

Stop using flawed logic to excuse the incompetence and lack of leadership going on in your state.

look at Abia state compare with Ebonyi state. with huge allocation in Lagos look at the slow development

kano choose to use her allocation both federal and internal judiciously yet southern have to wail about it

how many time have we called our leaders out against their fraudulence acts in regards to development

If Ganduje that was caught live stealing dollar can be doing all the gigantic projects over 12 now that no governor can embark on in the the East from 1960 till date I wonder which governor region deserve to be called a thief.

It seem I need Ganduje kind of thief to help us transform Abia instead of the foolish talkative like Abaribe, a failed former deputy governor, kerosene Ikpeazu n the despicae Orji Kalu n Theodore.

It is the "We versus them" mentality that the elite and politicians of the south have sold to the masses.

They have manipulated and conditioned the mind of the generality such that critical thinking is completely eroded.

Wrong man, Wong! Confront your fears! We should hold our leaders for every kobo they get from the federation purse! What is your governor doing with the "little" you say they are given! Of course we won't do this but keep about the bush about what others get and are doing with theirs.

See the Niger Delta for example, with all the money been pumped and a state like Bayelsa with a former president to booth it is still in a sorry state!

I see southerners push for this your agenda like its some magic bullet but with the prevailing leaders in the South...hmm...even if this years budget is pumped to the South, I dare say you won't see stuff of this magnitude.

-There was a time the oil producing communities said 13% oil derivation is what will birth developments.

-Then 13% wasnt enough, it is NDDC...

-Then it is Niger Delta Ministry and you know as I do the magic that goes on there.

Like or hate an Elrufai but you can't take away his signature leadership on the FCT and that sort of leadership is what the South needs not the clowns we have there!

It is very true that our Governors down south are monumental failures...

But apart from Kano, Kaduna and few others, most Northern States are shitholes, Adamawa, Yola (formerly Gongola state) my place of birth, created around 1976 or so, cannot match the pedigree of Abia, Osun, Delta, Ebonyi, and Ekiti that was created 1991, 1996 In terms of Infrastructures, Industrialization, Human capital etc. Same as Taraba, Kastina, Sokoto, Yobe

The only thing that Adamawa state can boast of in terms of infrastructure is their Jimeta Utra Modern Market, the quality of the building is Bae and has more than 4k shops. (Although 25% of these shops are either empty or been used as warehouse...)

Oga ask your state Governor what he is using your state allocation for , all the states in Nigeria receives monthly allocation from the federation account plus their internally generated revenue, oil rich states gets royalties and 13% derivation allocation. Again, ask your Governor what he is using your state allocation for, Gan dollars of Kano, Umahi of Ebonyi, Sanwolu of Lagos and few others are trying to put their states in good shape while some Governors like Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Isaku of Taraba, Okezie of Abia and the host of others are using theirs for God knows what. You can complain of nepotism and others at the center but development at the state level is at the disposal of the Governor he decides to build or not to build.

Children from the south think nothing is happening in North. They feed you!! They have more mineral resources, more infrastructure, they are richer! They don't care about the media. Kano and Kaduna no be the same level with Anambra, ask your parents. They are many up north.
