TroubleMaker47: I wonder o. That's like 4 months ago approximately. Why are they bringing it up now trying to garner sentiments due to the ongoing health crisis? Unfortunately, many people won't read to understand. All they will do is read to reply the topic. 4 months is too long to have kept quiet. 7 Likes |

An average Nigerian is a crook. Do you see how they cover the date? This is blackmailing and I hope Benue state don't take it lightly with this guys. There was a contract of 6years which I am pretty sure they are in the know of the duration. Instead of thank you at the expiration of the contract, choose to take advantage of the current covid19 to blackmail their employee into retaining them against the original contract term. 10 Likes |

Nigeria has NO government. Just party members who cling to power with no ideals, directives or plan for the ppl except to loot the treasury senseless. |

MZrapper: From all indications, they are only using the health crisis ongoing to whip up sentiments which is not good at all. The writeup didn't state if relevant stakeholders ( NMA, NLC etc) have waded into the matter on their behalf. For me, I think they waited too long. |

alizma: The irony is that many people commenting won't bother to read and understand. They will just rush to comment on the topic. Waiting for 4 good months before shouting is not in their favor. Yes, it amount to cheap emotional blackmail 8 Likes 1 Share |

But why haven't they passed out? Does it mean 30 of them failed residency exams. Since November 2019, this is April 2020. This doctors are playing emotional blackmail here, an institution can't just sack 30 doctors without a reason, besides the letter I read wasn't a sack letter. 6 Likes |

Residency is a training. If you can't complete your training within the stipulated time, reapply. Don't blackmail the management because of covid 19. If you can't do residency, apply as a medical officer simple. 7 Likes |

You see, pdp supporters wont bare their fangs here, all because the governor of the state involved is a pdp member. Imagine what would happen should a doctor with a Federal Medical Centre get sacked today. Oh, it would be like the moon is about to crash into the earth, thanks to Buhari and his foolishness. Here one of theirs is sacking doctors, yet the same people who cant criticize this are busy insulting the government to hell for getting additional help from the doctors of another country. Such confident hypocrites. 2 Likes |

What we fail to understand is that there are many Olodo doctors who were just there collecting salary. Only God will save us from poorly trained doctors. The rate at which they fail foreign USA exam shows that our educational system especially for doctors is crying for heavenly intervention. 1 Like |

alizma: The sack was not done in accordance with the medical Residency Training Act. For instance, even doctors whose departments got accreditation two years after they were employed, were given letters that six years had elapsed even when two of those years did not count. Secondly, Residency Training in Nigeria is guided by the Residency Training Act of Nigeria which was signed into law by the president in 2017. The duration of Residency is based on time from eligibility to sit for exams and not an absolute duration. |

Resident doctors are not employees per se They are essentially TRAINEES. Trainees have a peculiar contract with budget for training, courses ,study leave etc Infact it is not usual to offer an extension. They are expected to pass their Fellowship exams during the duration of the contract and move on to create room for fresh intakes If they have not passed their exams in the expected period they could consider Staff grade =Medical Officer roles They should not deny training spaces to fresh residents 11 Likes |

lilyheaven: None of them has been allowed to sit for exams. Even those that would have had exams this month, if not for the coronavirus pandemic, were told to leave. Some are not even eligible for exams yet. None of them have written the part II exams, talk more of failing. Moreover, according to the medical Residency act, a senior Resident has 18 months from when they are eligible for exams, to pass. 1 Like |
