CanadaOrBust: The answer is age. This virus kills two types of people the most: old and those with underlying health issues. Others may get the virus, but they are significantly less likely to die from it. How many old people are in Nigeria, a country where the youth form 35% of the population is the lifespan is not up to 50. This is why you have less deaths there. In the US, several people are hundred years old and above. How many are over 80 in Nigeria? Also, as you age, there is a bigger chance of having health issues, hence a lot of old people in the US have underlying health issues, so serious that if Nigerians had such health issues they would have died long ago. So many people here have been on the waitlist for a kidney transplant for more than 10 years, surviving on dialysis, something the average Nigerian cannot afford. So many have diabetes, asthma, etc. They are surviving because of the very good health care system here, and many of them live really old with these ailments. In Nigeria, you don't see a lot of people with those ailments because they already died. Now with covid-19, more people are likely to die in the US because they fall in this category of old and underlying health issues. In Nigeria, less people are likely to die because there are not many old people, and many have no serious underlying health issues. You get it now? 8 Likes 2 Shares |

What is the arrangement for a 21-day compulsory quarantine? I hope the FG is not stupid to advise them to "self-isolate" as they did for the previous returnees who end up putting our lives at risk? |

kiyosaki1: Far easier to survive in Nigeria than in the US, if you are undocumented and have no work. With the current pandemic and various orders to stay at home, undocumented immigrants are finding it hard to cop abroad. Despite the fact that you are not working, landlord still expect his or her rent at the end of the month and failure to pay means eviction....plus with the Trump presidency, the worst case is to be picked up by ICE and thrown into a jail where the chances of contracting the disease are higher.....so, given those odds, the chance of a free ride back to Nigeria with a few platitudes from the FG on arrival or at the end of the 14 days quarantine sounds very appealing. 3 Likes 1 Share |

keko14:I heard from a source that the virus could take a month before it manifests in some people. So I recommend a month quarantine for them. |

CanadaOrBust:Lagos didn't have a first case before NYC. Lagos tested before NYC. The virus have been spreading wide in NYC before the government took it seriously. NYC is a global transport hub, Lagos is not. 2 Likes |

Good move but what happened when China based were crying to be evacuated?? If u could be holistic in answering below questions you will understand why this move. 1: Which region is the majority in China? 2: Which region is the majority in USA 3: When did FG finally made up there mind to close borders for air routes? This man is just a tool & ass licker to d so called cabals. Don't tell me that other nationals are doing evacuations now! Then what happened when our people in China were crying to come back That's my point here |

Is it not better to let them remain there and weather it out ? The few that got to Nigeria have now infected almost 300 and you want to take in almost 200 potentially infected 'I wanna gonna' rolling stones? |
