Nigerian army also took delivery of this state of the art tank destroyer.

These would replace our ERC-90 Sagie Tank destroyer.

I just hope we got them in reasonable quantities and with other perks. Saw an article dated 2019 on army recognition about the army getting about 35 tanks.

"The equipment and platforms procured include 35 main battle tanks, 25 Typhoon MRAPs, 10 Spartan APCs, 20 Armoured Guard Booths, 5 armoured mine-clearing vehicles, 50 TCVs and 40 Buffalo vehicles, among others for the Nigerian Army. Also, four Ships, 182 Rigid Hull Inflatable and Epenal Boats, four Inshore Patrol Craft, two STAN Patrol Vessels and one Helicopter have been procured for the Nigerian Navy. Additionally, the Nigerian Air Force has benefited from the acquisition of modern platforms with 25 Fixed Wing Aircraft and 12 Helicopters. Several of this equipment is already in service while the new ones being procured are at different levels of production with some awaiting delivery", he said.

That's the main thing. I hope we bought enough.

We need a minimum of 50 VT-4 Tanks.

Maybe 100 ST1 8x8 vehicles.

500 units of Proforce ARA and Ezugwu MRAP APC.

Does the VT4 have an RWS ( remote weapon station)? I don't see it. lts on the Chinese and Thai variant. The RWS is for anti- infantry which we need.

It does. Comes as a standard feature. It would of course need to be detached for shipping to avoid damage.

You have to paint with the same pattern now, it is standard military practice.

China's state-owned NORINCO delivered 17 armored vehicles including artillery trucks, VT4 main battle tanks and ST1 tank destroyers to the Nigerian Army (NA) on Wednesday. The company won the $152 million military equipment and training package last year reportedly owing to its flexible maintenance policies and durability of equipment. The West African country is the first in the world to own these armored vehicles, which are built to carry a minimum of 12 armed personnel.

The brand new Chinese weapons are in different categories- heavy tanks, light tanks and two types of artillery weapons. The first set of 15 40-foot containers that were offloaded before today were made up of spareparts and accessories of all these equipment," Armys Chief of Policy and Plans (CPPLANS) Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun said. “Those who will operate them have been trained in China. If not for the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19, we expected some of their trainers to join us here to train more people," Adeosun added.
