PVision2020:You guies should pls read ones post before u quote. I made it clear here that the fg has the right to The airports., but they erred by not informing the governor It is one thing to land, it’s another thing to move about the state. That’s where the state government got its powers to lock up the pilots . They disobeyed the law of the state, but the minister could have made every thing seamless by informing the governor or the authorities. 2 Likes |

Both parties (FG and State Govt.) got it wrong. The FG should have carried the State government along in her decision. The Governor was trying to protect his people. On the other hand, the state government should not have arrested the pilots, and putting them in a prison that is inhuman. He should have quarantined them. A phone call would settle this. They will be released today. Let's watch.. |

Funny submission...who will be their customer? Have you forgotten the rule 101 in setting up a business - nearness to customers? The closest possibility is the arrival of another company. Throwback: |

d33types: Passenger manifest is not government property... if Rivers State government want a private company passenger manifest then it should create a law around that and work within the law... Not just show up with the governor and his entourage to a private company and ask for manifest. Does this Wike olodo know what being a governor is all about in the first place? |

Throwback:You mean they'll fly oil workers to neighboring states and then transport them to PH by road? Seems you don't know much about security and safety, especially in that terrain. |

bkool7:Were the commuters going to work at the airport premises? Or were there going to be suspended in the air throughout their stay in Rivers state. Won't they lodge in hotels, visit oil fields/rigs and interact with other workers? Won't these workers return home to be with their families? 1 Like |

Throwback: I believe Wike has an upper hand on this one - Caverton and the minister could have handled the matter more diplomatically; they had inadvertently pushed Wike into a corner where he had no choice but to act in order not to lose face; Caverton had foolishly put itself in the middle of the fight (it can't win) and ultimately will be the loser. |

toxtimmy:But it is government property in Lagos state? How did they track passengers that had contact with the Italian How are they supposed to track contacts if there are positive cases. No need to be ridiculous because you are trying yo win a pointless argument When Ebola came to Lagos it was this same contract tracing that slowed it down The government in Rivers state has already put in place laws for shutdown of the state . Anyone arriving in the state must be accounted for once they set foot on the ground The government has the power to test and quarantine them. Failure to provide the manifest is obstruction 2 Likes |

Coldie:There is not One shutdown .There is more than one The shutdown in Lagos, FCT and Ogun is a Federal shutdown. The Rivers state shutdown is not. This is easily verifiable. The shutdowns in other states are not FG shutdowns. The FG shutdown comes when a state government HAS NOT already put one in place. |

senatordave1: Yeah. I think Wike went beyond his powers in this matter. And more also by this act he'll be scaring away future investors who want to come to the state. Even existing investors. This issue could had easily been resolved without escalating it to this level but wike decided to make it political. Oil and gas doesn't shut down for corona, they are essential workers. If health protocols were breached, i don't think it warrants this level of response. But I don't know if wikes allegations against caverton are true, if so that was bad of caverton. |

flexyrule: Lol You're talking as if those people are just entering the country with a positive test of covid-19. So you walk around daily acting like everyone has covud-19? Better don't allow fear kill u, especially not in Rivers with less than 10 positives cases Those are oil workers returning from offshore assignment. Moreover, oil workers are exempted from lockdown by FG. Are fuel stations not operating in Port Harcourt? |

toxtimmy: On a lighter note, the FG controls the airports and we all know. On the other hand, all the pilots, crew, and passengers have to do to escape the state government is to remain in the airport, because the moment they're out, it legally and rightly becomes a state government matter. |
