It is well..check email. I sent an email. Kindly respond
bobocanny:
How it started
The decision to embark started June/July 2017; my family looked at the economic situation, and thought, with these bunch of jokers in Govt, it is best to have a plan B.
We are average income earners, so my wife and I had to combine funds to make POF. For a family of 4, we pooled the needed POF.

Passport
Passport for family done around Feb, 2018.

IELTS
Wifey and I wrote, around Nov 2018. As at then, i didnt really know you had to score Listening with 8, and writing, minimum of 7; but one thing with me in the exam hall was a mindset, that i am not wasting 75k to write this exam twice. So i died there, and made the needed mark.
I used Liz, you tube some other tutors i can’t recall their names now, even bought the past question for 5k or so from british council.
Tips- try watch you tube videos, and practice reading, speaking. Also try write some essays before the exam day.
The writing exam has a formula, do yourself a favor and follow the formula; please, simply follow the formula.
I recommend, Jay and Liz. Watch their vidoes. Thats all.

Sadly, wifey which I admit is academically smarter than me, had to write this exam three times, but still couldn’t make the writing and in one case the listening. Thus I ended up being the principal applicant. We planned her being the principal applicant because she was younger, and also since her brother is in ONTARIO, so we could claim 15 points.

ECA--WES
Looking back now, I suggest you begin this part first because it takes a whole lot of time. Your IELTS results can be ready within two weeks, but your ECA report cannot. Ours took like 5 months.
We did ours during the compulsory WAEC requirement; started around Nov 2018 and got it around Feb 2019. By then I had already lost 5 points due to age, so I ended up going the Ontario provincial nominee route-will explain this later.
Tip*If you have a BSC and MSC, I suggest you evaluate both, as you will never know when it will become handy. Infact, you might still need the Bsc certificate you didn’t evaluate. I agree its time consuming, but since it costs same amount of money, why not just do it.
Wife also had Msc which she evaluated alone, but looking back now, she preferred to had evaluated both Bsc and Msc.

ONTARIO PROVINCIAL NOMINEE(OINP)
My spouse and I initially planned for express entry but as I stated earlier, since WES report couldn’t come on time, and because wifey didn’t pass IELTS, we had to embrace the OINP offer when it came up- it costs us more, by like N420K or so, but happy we took it the offer looking back now.
This was another experience on its own, the documentations, waiting and all that, but glad it came out fine, and I went straight to receive our 600 points.
The OINP was quite tasking, didn’t know anyone having done it before, so I had to study, read, and read a lot of information so I could get it right.

MEDICALS
Nothing serious, spent whole day; wifey had protein, and had to redo the test, which came out fine.
PCC
TIMELINE
OINP- JUN 3RD.
OINP Passed-Like a month later
ITA- AUG 12, 2019
MEDICALS- SEP 3
AOR-SEP 17

BIMOETRIC PASSED- OCT 2ND
Then silence all through the rest of 2019.
Raised CSE to know status by Jan 7, got the generic response.
PPR MAIL- FEB 21
SUBMITTED PASSPORT-FEB 25
APPROVED- MARCH 11
COLLECTED Passport like a week later, as they didn’t send a pickup mail.

COST BREAKDOWN FOR FAMILY OF FOUR
WES FOR 2 PPL, with courier- 200K
IELTS- 300K(wifey wrote three times)
WAEC- N50K inclusive of miscelleanous, and courier cost
OINP-N420K
EXPRESS ENTRY FEES- N700K
MEDICALS-120K
CERTIFICATE- 50K (for 2)
POF- 6.6M
Police clearance- N9K for 2
NPC BIRTH CERTIFICATE- 30K for 2
PASSPORT FOR 4- N130K(roughly, as wifey had to change her passport from maiden to married)
AFFIDAVIT, Bank statement, letters, and other Miscellaneous- N25k

GENERAL TIPS
Keep your application simple. Very simple. I recall that my Letter of Explanation was just one page.
I explained on proof of funds with 3 lines; explained on work experience with few lines- used to work in now defunct Intercontinental Bank, now acquired by ACCESS Bank. I didn’t claim point from this but since it was in my work history, I thought I should explain.
Keep your Linked in profile up to date, and let it reflect the information you provided in your work history.
Delete your browsing history, delete your Nairaland account if you have had unpleasant profile online before- by unpleasant, i mean if you were someone like …LOL!!!

Work experience- take your time and identify your correct NOC code- work with your HR to prepare this letter in approved format.
Proof of Fund- Be very detailed and show proof of your income while working.
Our POF was Tbills, with Stanbic IBTC, which was quite straightforward.
Above all, pray, and keep your mind at ease. Don’t be shady, don’t forge, don’t hide anything, these guys will find a way of knowing.
I recall during OINP application, I mistakenly missed like 2 pages of my passport while scanning- these guys had to give me ADR to rescan again.
This is my way of giving back to this community. I hope it helps someone out there.
We are still waiting, due to COVID-19; But we know tomorrow holds a good gift for us.

My people, please I need your help. I am a nurse and have RN and RM. I evaluated my two degrees with IQAS but to my surprise, it didn't come out favourable. I feel so down, am thinking of going with ICES for a favourable two or more certificate. Please anyone that has evaluated their RN and RM, please help me, I need a way forward. Thanks
Sorry about that, I'm a nurse too. Trying to gather information here too. Why not try the ICES. I learned IQAS only favours BNsc.
Good luck, mate

Thanks so much for this reply. One more question please, hope it is changeable if I get ITA and its actually a day or two before....hope it wont amount to misrepresentation?
No bro, it is not. As long as it is changeable post ITA, it is what you input after ITA that they will use for your application.
And btw, you might get to change it before you even get ITA. It's probable that our lockdown might be lifted before the next ITA, and then you get to collect your result.

Hello, good people.
Please, concerning obtaining bank statement of account, can I get it from Lagos even though I opened the account in Osun State?
Response will be appreciated. The banks are both GTB and Sterling...

Also, concerning creating an express entry account. I have about 9yrs work experience. In my profile, I only indicated the most recent job experiences which have a total of 6yrs. Is it possible to mention the older employments? How do I go abt this? Thanks.

1) you can get bank statement from any branch doesn’t matter where you opened the account as long as it’s the same bank so for example first bank in Lagos or first bank in Abuja as long as it’s first bank.

2) no need to indicate the older employments in work experience section since you already have over 3 years which gives maximum points in the 6 years work experience. At post ITA you can put the older employments in the personal history section.

Good Evening,

I have always been a professional customer service officer in the banking industry, someone told my role isn't qualified for Express entry...although my husband is a medical personnel.

How true is that? if yes please what can i do?

yes it is not qualified as it is under NOC C skill level. Unless your bank can give you a reference letter for other roles you may have performed (which is unlikely) there is nothing you can do o. You can use your husband as PA if he has enough points

Is the customer service role supervisory? i.e Are you a supervisor in the role? if yes, then you can use it, If no, don't bother to use that. Your husband can be the primary applicant instead.

Canada’s immigration department is increasing processing fees at the end of the month for foreign nationals who wish to become permanent residents.

The fees that foreign nationals pay include operational, processing and service delivery costs related to all permanent residence immigration programs.

The new regulations come into effect on April 30, at 9 a.m. EDT. Completed applications received before this time will be processed in accordance with the current fee schedule. Applications received on or after that time that do not include the correct fees will be returned to the applicant as incomplete.

it doesn't, they said Canadian experience not Nigerian experience .

12) In the last ten years, how many years of skilled work experience in Canada does your spouse/common-law partner have?
It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in one or more NOC 0, A or B jobs.

My wife received a mail from IRCC stating ' additional medical examinations required ' and after caling IOM she was informed to come in for sputum test after the lockdown is over.
She has been worried and i am just wondering if it might affect our application becuase i hear the result takes about 8 weeks?
