I don't doubt that this was a virus that was meant to be studied as a bioweapon and was leaked due to poor lab standards. The reinfection is highly unlikely to be from the same strain. There's plenty of evidence suggesting this, from Obama era coronavirus in bat research projects involving human to human transmissibility to matching proteins it's all coming together. Honestly SARS-CoV-2 doesn't scare me that much - the next rendition of it is what will likely be fucking terrifying however. Imagine a mutating virus that suppresses your immune system and will require drugs for the rest of your life and can't be vaccinated for that only kills specific racial groups. That's what the future of designer drugs holds for the world. China could easily design a virus that kills non-chinese, is highly infectious and makes every Chinese person a potential carrier.
The future is terrifying, at least nukes were relatively predictable.
