Coronavirus: First Batch of free bags of Rice for the elderly in Anambra arrives

... distribution starts tomorrow, April 1st!

Gov Obiano few days ago promised to share free bags of rice to every Onye Anambra from 70 years and above as part of a jumbo stimulus package aimed at alleviating the difficulties with the 14-Days "Stay at Home" order

The distribution pattern is simple:

1. The Presidents-General of the 177 towns in the State will collect and submit the list of anyone upto 70 years of age; to the Ministry of Local Government

2. The Government will release corresponding quantity of bags of Anambra Rice to the town

3. The town will shared the bags of rice to the persons on the list while observing all the recommended practices to avoid the spread of Coronavirus

No Struggle! No Hassle! No Cheating!

This is just the beginning as many more goodies are coming for every Onye Anambra from the government of Chief Willie Obiano

Fighting The Spread Of Coronavirus Together In Anambra State

Ndi Anambra, we thank God that there is no recorded case of Coronavirus yet in the state as at 2nd April, 2020, and we pray and hope that it remains so.

However, we all need to prepare for any eventuality. Ndi Anambra MUST play their own part by obeying WHO, federal and state governments’ coronavirus advisory and directives for example, staying at home, washing our hands regularly with soap for 20 seconds each time, using hand sanitizers, stopping handshakes, hugs and kisses, maintaining social distances with people (6 feet), avoiding public gatherings, obeying boundary closure directive etc.

Anambra state government is doing its bit too. The 240-bed NYSC Camp (Mbaukwu/Umuawulu) Isolation Centre is almost ready, likewise the facilities at Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha. The state government has procured medical equipment and supplies and has launched a COVID-19 support fund among other measures including sharing of relief materials to the elderly (bags of rice etc), the economic stimulus package announced (tax refunds etc) for traders and business owners.

This time also calls for us as Ndi Anambra to be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers according to the Igbo mantras of ‘Nwanne di n’mba’ and ‘Onye aghana nwanne ya’. Let us share our bread and other materials with our neighbours who may be lacking.

The dark season will not last in the name of Chukwu Okike Abiama, Amen.

There are three tiers of Health care system in Nigeria which can be divided into two. Federal, State and local government and are categorized under the public system. On the other hand, we have the private system which is far better than what you have in South Africa. However, the public system will soon undergo total overhaul.

In Education, we have produced best brains in Africa and that is how I want to do my rating.
