spot on about Dangote Spaghetti. very horrible and gets soggy even if you cook it half done.

switched to Golden Penny, no regrets ever since.
Hola!!!

I know Golden penny is better, can you tell me how you do prepare your Dangote spaghetti? Just summarise if you can.

All Pasta products of Dangote are no-go area for me.

In the first month of my service year in the north, I visited the market to stock up my kitchen because my PPA wá very far from the main town. So among other provisions I decided to buy noodles at leat a carton.

I noticed Dangote noodles was quite popular in the north and I decided to give it a trial. Mumu me! I bought one full carton of the super pack embarassed( I think it contains 40 pieces or thereabouts)

Choi! Only God knows who the quality control officer who certified that Dangote noodles and it's seasoning okay for consumption. The taste was horrible. I cooked 2 pieces and added sardine, I just couldn't swallow past two spoons. I eventually called some students and gave them( I served in a boarding school) . Trust me, they devoured the whole thing.

I couldn't summon courage to cook out of the remaining noodles. 2 days to my passing out, I called the children of 3 non-teaching staff that stay close to corpers lodge and shared the noodles amongst them while I was packing my Kaya. The way their parents kept on Thanking me ehn, u will think I just handed their kids American visa.

I don't know if Dangote noodles has been improved on now, but about 5 years ago it was just horrible. And yes, the spaghetti is always sticky and soggy no matter how well u try to prepare it.
if it's not indomie or there sister company miniemie
All other noodles are wack

I can totally understand because I’m Mrs no-motivation when it comes to working out.

But sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do.

Believe me, when it comes to Dangote pasta, it's not about how you cook it, it's just the brand sad
Their macaroni texture is the worst! There's this mleh! about it

I didn't know good quality pasta is hard to come by in Nigeria. This is something I should have in mind for future visits.

However if you are a spaghetti enthusiast and to avoid being frustrated by poor quality products in the market, just make your own home made pasta. It is dead easy.

Just mix four eggs with about 300g flour bit by bit into a dough. Kneed properly, wrap in plastic, leave for about 10 minutes. You may add one egg yolk just to up the quality.

If you have a spaghetti making machine, the same you use for chin chin, use to cut out the dough or use a rolling pin to flatten out and cut into spaghetti or any pasta shape and cook in boiling water as you would spaghetti or leave to dry in the sun. That is spaghetti.

This is a high quality home made spaghetti and the taste is out of this world.

Ok ma.
Ingredients
Corn
Plantain/banana
Oil
Crayfish
Seasoning
Pepper.
Select your corn, wash and dry (just to remove dirt). Once it's dried, grind to powder.
Pour the powdered corn into a mortar/blender, get your plantain/banana, add to the powdered corn in the mortar/blender and keep pounding/blending until they're both properly mixed up.
Pour in a bowl, add a little water then your palm oil, crayfish, seasoning and pepper to taste. Once you're satisfied with the taste, pour in leaf, cellophine or aluminium foil and cook for 30mins...
thank you very much for this, I gonna give it a try.
