Quite impressive. I got an email from the University notifying me they had also joined other private varsities like Bowen and Covenant to resume classes on online. Remember, since 1999 when private varsities where introduced a section of the Nigerian University System enjoyed an "unbroken academic calendar". I'm quite impressed that universities are adapting to elearning. Lalasticlala 1 Like

Other foreign universities are doing the same. Corruption won't let government universities do so. 1 Like |

xcabczyxabczzzz:Church varsities are of little difference with secondary schools, in the way the students are managed because majority of the students are very young still. But then the students also got mails. 1 Like |

Commonsense dictates it be addressed to parents and sponsor because it cost money to hook up online(PC, Data subscription, modems etc) . . . I see no way that makes it look like a secondary school set up. If anything it will speed up compliance and put parent and guardians in the know about the new development as regards lectures. 1 Like |

HigherEd:How effective is that approach from your observation? I believe after school the church is still looking out for them, not bad though. |

CodeTemplar:okay now I understand why it was addressed to the parents. Makes sense. |
Re: Landmark University Continues Session Online by HigherEd: 6:31pm On Apr 12, 2020 |
xcabczyxabczzzz:It's okay. The students are young and need to be moulded in consultation with parents. Obviously, this is not the norm with public or foreign varsities. But I believe the Church has the right to define its own norm within the sphere of legality. So it is a system, it has some drawbacks but could be far more better than the system in the developed world. Which pretty gives room to lawlessness, indiscipline and lead to adolescents going astray. 2 Likes 1 Share |
