Please i need an urgent help, my new fridge was working perfectly, all of a sudden all the appliances in the house went off, but there is still power, i started troubleshooting with elimination method until i got to the fridge everything in the house went off, i unplug it and power was restored.

I can't really understand why the fridge trips power when plug to wall socket

Please any guru in the house that will help remotely, i will appreciate.

This period hard to get technician, just stranded now .

I use the same brand of fridge without any negative issues.

1. Is your fridge sharing a socket with any other appliance? If yes, let it be a stand-alone.
2. Your electrical connection could be faulty... do a simple tracing job.
3. If the problem is only when on a power generator, go for a gen with higher capacity.
4. If the problem persists even when on PHCN supply, possibly the power supply in your area is less than the normal 220v - 240v.

Kindly turn off the refrigerator because its circuitry has been Short circuited which cause electrical shutdown of the appliances on the same line as the refrigerator. Kindly turn the fridge off till u get to repair the refrigerator. Might be compressor fault. Your home electrical circuitry is a top notch, hence the shutting off when the fridge start up.

#2 Carried out checks on the loop, every other things work normal when the fridge is out.
#3 This happen today when its on Generator set, Since yesterday no power and even when there is power it cannot power anything very low voltage, Gen becomes the only source of power for now.
#4 Can be confirmed later, but for the past one week in my area, we've been experiencing low voltage.

Yeah i have turned it off, its not only shutting appliance on the same line, it shuts the entire house and power will be restored when i unplug it.
I suspected a compressor fault.

A new device means it is still under warranty. Grab your receipt and return that bad boy for free repairs.

Your fridge is leaking current and not properly earthened or there's a bridge in the circuitry caused by a faulty component

Your generator can't power the fridge.

wait till power is restored in full voltage then test it.

If the generator had been working flawlessly with Fridge before now, it means your compressor is bad. A bad compressor draws excessive current.
Wait till power is restored and check again before taking it to thermocool.
