Damn I traveled from Asaba to Warri it was war.
Luckily for me the man driving us from Warri to ugheli is an inspector. He was just flashing his ID card and they were letting it through.
But the gbege started when we alighted at Ugheli.
To get bus to Warri was like crossing from Canada to USA. Security everywhere.
We then saw a space bus that wanted to risk it.
My dear to cut the long story short we were stopped half way, transloaded into a police van that took us to Warri.
Damn just to get to ughelli from warri cry

men!! Its not easy. I finally left asaba and I am in onitcha right now,. Transportation is double or more than double. The major transport companies are closed down and the ones you find will double the price because they are not taking the major routes. If you want to travel out of asaba do it today cuz security will be tighter from tomorrow onwards.
With all these stories of bush paths and entering police van?
Abeg make I stay house till okowa allows movement.

If you've embarked on interstate journey during this lockdown period please share your experience.

What is the border situation like? Are the security personnel at the borders compromising?

Let's hear from you.

Of course the security personnel are taking bribes.

Nigeria is a cesspool of corruption!

Sadly with the display of stupidity and selfishness of your likes .
I think its fair to say that the spread of the covid-19 virus won't be curbed anytime soon and we should definitely be expecting more deaths .
Cos you guys will successfully distribute the virus to all 36 states of the country .

If you truly want to risk it, make sure you have "extra extra" cash on you cause anything can happen on the way. In the middle of the way, the driver may decide to quit the journey cause of military harassment. (Some of the military men and police go as far as collecting thousands of naira from drivers).

Don't even think of carrying extra luggage. So when its time to run, you can easily find your way. You can also cross the border to the next state with less baggage.

I don't know about the northern part, but I took the risk of traveling to the east from Lagos. The experience wasn't even funny. We were stuck for hours on Delta State border. There, we met those who took night journey and those who left early that morning.

Some travellers with less luggage came down and cross the border on foot. Why they think those on feet won't spread the virus unlike those with cars is what I don't understand. Also fuel tankers where allowed to cross the borders. There were close to a five hundred cars stuck there, thus preventing tankers from entering is very risky.

Out of frustration our driver and some fellow passengers wanted to return back to Lagos and asked us to contribute money for it. Though, some of us, insisted we wait.

It was late in the evening before they finally opened it, after several pleading to their state governor and fear of armed robbers popping out from nowhere.

Point is: everyday, you meet different problems on the road. Also confirm if the state you are going to has closed their border. It very important.

This idea of crisscrossing is why local transmission of CoVID19 is spreading. Why can't we stay in one place for God's sake People's businesses are folding up...hunger is increasing. No Government palliatives will get to an average common man. The ONLY thing we can do as citizens is to sacrifice for a while and STAY where we are. Let's endure this pain for a while and break this circle of transmission as fast as we can..so that we can go back to our businesses on time.

My friends... Government can only increase or extend this lockdown so far the CoVID19 is still being transmitted. Let's be responsible please.

STAT WHERE YOU ARE!!!

What of the Police and Army that see it as a means of making brisk money. The country is finished.

shocked

I traveled from Ibadan to Lagos on Friday and came back to Ibadan on Saturday morning.

The travel lockdown is a scam. Many checkpoints on the road but the commercial drivers knows their way out. They pay N200 per checkpoints and N500 to the federal highway police checkpoint at Guru maharaji junction.

We were dropped off at Kara, and i entered a bike to Berger, from Berger, another bike to Ojota before taking a bike of N1000 to Yaba, which was my final destination.

The lockdown is more of a business venture between the Okada riders, transporters and security agents
You were told to stay in one place to prevent the spread of virus. You're travelling about paying transporters, bike riders and security.
When they collect your money, you then accuse them of doing business.
Are you expecting them to start beating you with stick before you will know that lockdown is serious?

If you catch this virus or spread it to others, don't later come back and say that it was because security didn't do their work O!

If I'm any state governor, if you are caught entering my state, 2years imprisonment without any option of fine.
Nigerians are do insensitive and wicked. We all are hungry and need to get to work as soon as possible. If the total lock down in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja was maintained, there wouldn't be this new cases outside the index states that we are recording now; the government wouldn't have extended the lockdown as there would be traces on how to curb the spread. But no, we chose to behave like idiots, playing smart cards, risking putting your lovely new family into extinction.
What will it profit a man after playing the authorities and infect his family with Covid-19?? Think about it.

Let's support our government in this fight so everything can return to normal...

When u carry Corona virus plus the food you don't have, you will know why government said you should stay home. The kaduna case, the man that returned from Lagos will teach the co-passengers a hard lesson. Soon they will know what their disobedience have caused them... In a country like Nigeria where there's almost no hope for a common man, they will just die with their families.
