When I search GPS or Autobrightness in settings I can turn them on or off but can't make them appear as shortcut icons which is my aim.

I know exactly what you are saying, if I hold your phone know I can rectify it. But I can't remember the exact steps I used

When you go to settings to activate the GPS or brightness go to that shortcut drop-down and and click edit it should appear there

On this ur pics, swipe left, you should see 'edit' click on it. It'll show you ALL d icons, those below you can 'PRESS & HOLD' them drag them up to make them visible when you pull down notification.

It doesn't work. I bought the phone last week and then I could find edit by swiping. But it disappeared I think after the update I did 3 days ago.
I have attached pictures of what it was (picture taken from Google) and what it is (screenshot)

I cant remember how MIUI looks again, thanks to custom ROM. Most guys here are on custom ROM, the main thread might be of help. Try and search for quick setting in the settings and see how that goes. Hope you get the solution you need.

Bind your sim to miui account first then click on the error message

Now this is where my problem is gan gan.
I have no idea how to make this right as I spent literally 4hrs trying to achieve this the last time I tried it. Please can we talk more on WhatsApp. Don't mind if you drop your WhatsApp digit. Thanks
