I'll give you 3 valid reason why the IPL has more tv viewership than the NBA

1) Cricket is the biggest sport in India..it's possible the only sport the whole of India follows. India population is over 1 billion.. Basically,almost half of all cricket fans in the world are from India.. That 1 billion population of theirs is 4 times more than that of the US.. so the viewership rate is expected to be higher..

2) Cricket has no rival in India.. No sport can match it . But the NBA has to compete with the NFL,MLB and NHL in the US...

3) the difference in time zone between the US and Europe/Africa makes it difficult for NBA fans outside of the US to watch NBA games live.
