Thanks for the input everyone, I appreciate. It seems like one can't beat police check points with a new plate, but I think these drivers that transport cars interstate know how to settle them. Na to channel my energy to getting a reliable driver, your recommendations will be well received. 3 Likes |

mejai: All that's needed is the number last two alphabets, the sequence is known to all. Like someone said earlier, currently anything that starts from "G" is a new registration, last year it was "F" and it ended "FZ" late last year and "GA" began, next is "GB", then "GC" and so on. I just hope peeps looking to move their cars from Lagos to other states don't get them impounded. Even cars within the state are being impounded during this lockdown. Just employ the service of a Soldier to make it a bit easy. 2 Likes |

Foxie: Why should I give police money when I have my Driver's license and I didn't steal the vehicle. Police have nothing on me driving a toks. Weytin dem wan ask? But with plate number they'll always want to crosscheck papers, and asumming he gave the car to someone to bring down to port Harcourt, they'll always ask for the owner of the car, just because the names on the Driver's license and vehicle registration are not corresponding. Baba, taking it to port without registration is the best.... But for custom, you register o, you no register o, so far the car is fine, them go stop you. 6 Likes |

hypernikao: So far you have your license, you can drive your car yourself. There's no big deal bringing car from Lagos, the only challenge you can have is knowing the routes(your way from Lagos to destination). After you take delivery of your car, you no go drive am? If police stop you, you no go sort yourself? Na man you be, haba! There's no big deal in driving TOKS, so far your papers are complete. Like I mentioned earlier, the only challenge is know the routes, having the time and the ability to drive long distance. Aside that nothing dey! 5 Likes |

hypernikao: Please and please don't travel with the original papers. Send them probably via courier to your home state a fan travel with photocopies. You can also snap the on your phone but pls don't travel with original. A friend's car was snatched at gun point with original copies inside just a day after purchase. He actually had the originals with him cos he went to make copies. Those guys were disguised as police, hit him with butt of gun, woke up by the road side next morning around Dutse, Abuja. 4 Likes |

Inception: Driving within Lagos is the problem. There shouldn't be any issue once outside Lagos. Will only cost a lot of money settling policemen and military men stationed at state boundaries and checkpoints. A colleague recently came in to PHC from Ibadan. 4 Likes |

Mayor555:bros calm down oo. U no dey enter road oo. If you like get everything complete, as long as say na fresh Tokunbo motor, you must drop something or else expect exceptional delays. If the car has been registered, then na only custom go worry you. But without a plate number, police no get your time oo. |
Re: N1,200,000 or Less Tokunbo Cars by Mayor555(m): 10:54pm On Apr 13, 2020 |
Inception: It can only be done by tweaking the system. Like getting a personnel from one of the Nigerian various forces... But then it can be hard too. |
Re: N1,200,000 or Less Tokunbo Cars by Mayor555(m): 11:10pm On Apr 13, 2020 |
9icetoo: Composure and wittness matter in all these things, it's something I do, was on the road this last month before the lockdown with a toks car. Police will go straight to the matter asking for money, I'll tell them how I've been stressed out and I don't have cash. Like I said self possession matters. I've said enough on this issue. Make I die the matter. But let me say again, I'll drive a toks vehicle to anywhere in Nigeria and not give police a dime without my wish (yes, some policemen will start hailing and even practically beg you to give them something, that one na aside. And even at that, na still my choice to give or not) Enough said, make the matter rest ike that. God bless. 6 Likes |

What works for A, may not work for B. And C can not verify clams by A, while D may bogusly claim to do better than A, but not even good enough to serve under B. The cycle goes on and on. This is the ugly part of online forums, few people may remain under anonymous profiles and make unverifiable pronouncement. As if that isn't enough, others will use their egoistic imaginations to trample on other people's honest opinions. Smh 3 Likes |
