This is expected as the purpose for the luckdown has not be achieved.
However, while the stay at home order persists, we palliatives for substenance. At least, N20,000 cash transfer to every account holders will go along way.
Those who are close to Buhari should tell him to accompany the lockdown order with palliatives for the masses survival.... May God help us ooo!
Can you categorically state when they government will achieve the lock down purpose knowing the kind of country you are in from experience

You are locking people up in their homes without any preparations for them to feed and stay alive. I wonder what the people advising him are high on!

Provide for the people as they stay home...if the people's needs are met without stress, you can extend the lockdown by as long as you want.

All this screams gross incompetence!

no test kits, no development, economy is flattening, people are losing jobs, most companies will retrench, short pay and even close down. worst decision by your president when u keep people in isolation without aid or needs.. Trump might be a liar but I think he and germany' president are addressing the situation with sense..purpose of lockdown is to limit the spread of the virus it seems lockdown has even increased the number of cases

This is crazy mehn!

But the president acknowledged that returnees from abroad were largely responsible for the deaths recorded so far and that shutting the airports and borders have stemmed the tide.

So why the extension again

In the next 2 weeks, the number of confirmed cases will definitely increase. Deaths may not. So will the lockdown be extended again

The new confirmed cases are most likely those with the "Nigerian-used" version of the virus. And they will surely recover by the grace of God.

Coronavirus is not for Africa. The facts are there for all to see. God is so good to us... cool

No mind them, they just wan feel among

Please did he say how the purpose of the lockdown will now be achieved in the next 14 days, or is just the same siddon look as was the previous?

Is there plan for more test kits so that more people can be tested.

Also, are there plans to test widely for covid-19 antibodies that would suggests that more people have had and developed immunity against the virus?

Are more healthcare facilities going to be deployed so that when the lockdown is lifted in 14 days there will be increased capacity to treat more patients that may arise without our healthcare facilities getting overwhelmed?

IMO this lockdown looks like the usual Nigerian following the path of least resistance with no clear strategy for conquering the virus. It appears that we may just be hoping that covid-19 disappears suddenly (though highly desirable).

Best decision by Mr President in recent times

The lockdown is necessary, but palliative measures are not put in place by the government to help the hungered. There is hunger in the land, and if this continues, hoodlums will be on the loose at a geometric rate -Last week will only be the tip of an iceberg compare to what will be experienced in few weeks to come.

Pussyfooting government. Why wait till the end of the initial lockdown before announcing an extension? It’s so glaring that this necessary but as usual, he had to wait till the last minute before addressing the nation on this.

Because things like this are renewed at the end of the countdown.
