really, how is the xc60, 2010 model in terms of availability and cost of parts, reliability (especially for long distance travels), durability and everyday driving

thanks

nurey:

Shares part with 07 freelander, s60, s80,xc70, v70 etc. Some parts may be hard to get locally. But volvo is a fairly good buy

thanks 9icetoo, once again

9icetoo:

The mdx is bigger than the rx. It seats 7 people and still has ample boot space even the third row seat up.
I prefer the interior of the mdx. It's better laid out.
If you have a big family, the mdx might suit you better. If you have a small family and don't haul a lot while travelling, I suggest you go for the rx. The rx is also cheaper to maintain as you don't have to change water pump, timing belt, tensioner and all other associated costs involved with the mdx when the timing belt is due. Also you won't get the timing belt surprise when least expected.

The avalon to me is a car you should be driven in not a car u should be driving. But in all the avalon and es350 share engine and transmission in terms of part cost i believe d es is a bit cheaper considering it shares part with camry.

The Is250 engine is 100k cheapest among all but shares part with GS which part is expensive than es.

As for the pontiac you are on your own

Thank you nurey..

By this statement "The avalon to me is a car you should be driven in not a car u should be driving" don't get if you're exalting or lessening it's worth, Or you trying to pass a msg of a known issue witht the car??

Don't be misled. Matrix has a lot of components that differentiates it from the Vibe.

In my eyes the S-class of that year fits personal driving than the avalon especially the facelift avalon which looks so big

Es better and superior to the camry
Engine camry faster and better mpg in i4 and v6 than es but Es is cheaper in parts overall

Luxury is Es330

Speed camry wins

Appeal, exterior camry wins, interior Es wins

Cost of parts Es wins

Good evening all, kindly help me to fine tune my decision on this 2 cars, though same brand.
2003 Mercedes c320 and a 2005 Mercedes e320. I am a bachelor. I just want a good car without electrical issues. Which of the 2 cars is more reliable and cheap to maintain in terms of parts.

A lot of things except many exterior body parts are interchangeable, side view mirrors are interchangeable. A colleague at my former place of work had one, coming from a wrecked Toyota Matrix, he had his own personal junkyard. I know for sure that door handles are the same on his Matrix and Vibe.

As for HVAC, we learnt this the hard way when we thought we could just remove, insert and inshallah! Denso Compressors are plug and play on the 1ZZFE, but that's all where the good news ends. If you try to run a Toyota compressor on the vibe, you must export things like the expansion valve, AC lines, blower motor harness or something, evaporator, resistor, I think the Matrix's condenser might work but we didn't get that far during the surgery last year.

And oh, you need a competent mecho or the vibrations will end your tinkering career.

No chief. I mean if you want to use Matrix HVAC components on the Vibe you need a professional who will carry out the surgical f.vcke.ry.

They’re readily available. A brand new Delphi compressor (Vibe) is cheaper than a Denso compressor (Matrix) - I know this because I've bought one. My initial comments were based on the fact that my colleague exported Matrix AC components to his Vibe. He had an accident with his Matrix, and bought a naija used Vibe that just 'needed gas' - we ended up learning a lot after we topped gas grin. I won't advise anyone goes this route, we only took this path because we had the matrix parts already.
