Mr. Guru Maharaj, the founder of One Love Family, has dropped another bomb stating that all Nigerians must drop religions to combat coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking at the conference in Lagos, he said it is time for Nigerians to realize that they move away from religion and “Holy Power Syndrome”.

He was quoted saying “We have found that the word God is an abracadabra, a metamorphosed way of misleading people from creator. Our people must go away from Holy Spirit syndrome, Holy Fire, Holy Michael, they are not working. They should get away from religion completely.”

He said Coronavirus would be dead the moment we are holding each as one Nigeria.

He further said that those who posses divine knowledge would see who is real coronavirus as they would be in spiritual realm.

He said: “Look at it, see what has happened. Holy Ghost power has run away oo.. Praise the Lord rababaraba, everything na lie o. They have even closed areas in Saudi Arabia, Mekkah, Medina, no roads. So, where lies the power that Moses used to split water into two? Where is the power David used to kill Goliath?”

He alleged that we are all perishing because we lack divine knowledge.

However, mixed reactions have trailed him. Some people even curse him. Is this man okay? Or do you believe in his view.

When religious fellows come out to speak ill of non-religious fellows, and "pagans", they seldom call out the religious fellows for speaking ill of them. Now the non-religious fellows like Guru Maraji are coming out to speak ill of them, rather than prove him wrong sensibly by either ignoring them, or blessing them, they justify the claims of these non-religious fellows by cursing them, insulting them , an act contrary to what religious fellows should show.




To me, everyone is entitled to his belief. Whatever rocks your boat. If you choose to believe in a Supreme entity that works in mysterious ways the English gave the word "God" to term him, the Arabic gave the word "Allah" to term him, that's your personal, I repeat, your personal conviction. Science believes in a supreme entity with principles and laws they term Nature, that's her personal conviction. For those who don't believe in neither, that's their personal conviction. Live and let others live, simple!

Even i disagree with the great philosopher Karl Marx in his Das Kapital, he argued that religion would vanish and wither away with the disappearance of classes in the societ he considered religion to be a product of man's conciousness it is a reflection of man's nature in the world of private property, being alienated from the product of his labour religion is his opium.

You can't take religion from man it has come here to stay but you can wound and underdevelop yourself with that religion if you are not careful that is the case in Africa. The western world had christianity when it ushered in the capitalist epoch that birthed the industrial revolution and they keep advancing to this day and still practice christianity.

So religion is not the problem but man himself the way you handle your religion based on your personal conviction would go a long way to determine your advancment.
